My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
You may be thinking that this profile is too long, so since you might not want to spend time reading it, I'll summarize my profile in one sentence first: I'm Bill, I'm a Christian who accepts people with other beliefs, I give out bookmarks to random people, I'm quiet at first, I like "How I Met Your Mother" way too much, I misquote Lincoln on my OkCupid profile, I like Rebecca Black's "Friday," and for some reason I mention Justin Bieber on my OkCupid profile.

Now for my full profile:

My name is Bill, and I live south of Atlanta. I am 26 years old, and I enjoy running, reading, and watching the Braves.
I am a Christian and am serious about my faith. That being said, I do believe that religion is a personal choice, and I have no right to say that my beliefs are any truer than those of anyone else. I'm a Christian because my own background and experiences have caused me to believe that the Christian faith is true, and it's fine that others experiences have shown them something else. I may be wrong in thinking that, but that is what I believe (Don't interpret that to mean I'm not devoted to the Christian faith, though).
I think the most important and universal principle is the golden rule: Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Another good rule (though not as much as the golden rule) is: Don't think you know all the answers.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I am working with a nonprofit organization working towards dropout prevention. After my current contract is over, I am considering getting certified to teach.

Outside of work, I give bookmarks to random people. If you meet me, I'll probably give you a bookmark. So if you're reading a book now but don't have a bookmark for it, you should probably try to go out with me. Sure, you could just use a piece of paper or receipt or something, but wouldn't you rather go through the trouble of meeting up with me so you can get a free bookmark? It's 2"x6" on card stock and has a picture of a pond and the golden rule written on it.
So, yeah, that's why you should go out with me...Free bookmark!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I try to be easy to get along with, and I think and hope that I am.
I also like to think that I'm good at running; not great at it, but not too bad.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Physically I guess it's my beard. I've had it since 2012 and don't plan on getting rid of it.

Socially, it's that I'm very quiet in new settings and when first meeting people. Once I finally get comfortable in a setting or with a person, I often talk and joke around a lot, but it takes a while. People who don't know me too well think that I am super shy and socially awkward, so if you ever meet me, be prepared to think that at first.

Once, after a socially awkward first (and last) date, I called my fat friend, and he told me that to be better on first dates, I should act around the girl the same way I act around him. So I asked him, "So I should call her fat on our first date?"
So that's why I'm quiet at first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Most of what I read is either mysteries or religious books.
My favorite mystery authors are Agatha Christie, Dennis Lehane, and Ed McBain.

My favorite books are: Curtain by Agatha Christie, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie, A Stone for Danny Fisher by Harold Robbins, The Last Temptation of Christ by Nikos Kazantzakis, The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel, The Simple Faith of Mr. Rogers by Amy Hollingsworth, The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie, Candyland by Ed McBain/Evan Hunter, Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane, and The Christ Commission by Og Mandino.

My favorite books of the Bible are the four gospels. My favorite translations of the Bible are the New King James Version and the New International Version. I listen to the Word of Promise Audio Bible.

I like a lot of different types of movies.
Some of my favorite movies are: The Dark Knight, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Faraway So Close, Field of Dreams, The Naked Gun, The Truman Show, and The Last Temptation of Christ.

Music: I am a huge fan of Elvis Presley. I also like country music.

My favorite TV Show is How I Met Your Mother, though I'm still trying to come to terms with the ending of it. It's a great show, though, even if I haven't completely accepted the ending of it yet.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
God, family, friends, Braves, books, and running.

One thing I could do without, though, is drama. It's like Abraham Lincoln always said: "Save the drama for your mama."
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about what my future holds.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well, at 7:45 I'm driving on the highway, cruising so fast I want time to fly. Fun, fun, think about fun, you know what it is.
(If you don't know what that's referencing, see the next section of my profile)

Real answer: Currently, I am involved in a church ministry every Friday night.
On other nights I'm either watching a Braves game (or listening to/following because of blackout restrictions) or watching a movie or reading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've probably watched Rebecca Black's "Friday" music video over 100 times.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Anyone feel free to message me if you think we could be a good match based on what you see here or if you'd just like to get to know me. I would enjoy getting to know anyone who would like to get to know me, too. However, we're probably not going to be a good match long-term if any of the following apply:
If you have any pictures on this site of you shooting a gun, we're probably not going to be a good match.
I don't mind whichever side you are politically, but if you are extreme in your politics (either side), we're probably not going to be a good match.
In order for anything to work long-term with me, you must be a Christian. However, if you're not accepting of people of other beliefs and/or think that everyone must believe exactly as you do, we're probably not going to be a good match.
If you spend a lot of time criticizing anyone, we're probably not going to be a good match. This includes criticizing your friends, your boss, your ex-boyfriends, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Fox News, MSNBC, and anyone else (of course, by saying this, I realize that now my profile will come up if anyone searches for Justin Bieber in a keyword search on Okcupid, so maybe I should just remove that part). I'm not saying I don't want to go out with you if you ever have a negative opinion about someone, but some people just get obsessed with how much they hate someone.

Of course I know that any relationship needs compromises, but I'm just listing a few things upfront that could be issues later on if you get to know me.

God bless you!
