My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Wow.... How to begin..... I guess I should give you a couple spoilers. I'm divorced and a single dad. If that doesn't scare you away, keep reading. I have my son half the week. When he's with me, my focus is on him. When he's not with me, I can get in some grown-up time.

It's been a couple years since the divorce. It was a nice break to get myself sorted out and really focus on being a dad. Now I'd like to share some of my time with someone special. While I'm not sure how I feel about jumping right back into a serious relationship, I'd like to start by meeting someone, making connections and seeing where things go from there. And don't worry - The last thing I'm looking for is a rebound relationship. :)

I think it's safe to describe me as stable, secure, level headed and kind. Does this make me too much of a square, lol? I am literally an Eagle Scout after all. Funny, when I was growing up I always wanted to be the Han Solo type but knew I was much more Luke Skywalker. (Square and a nerd I guess).

I don't like games or drama - but then again who admits that they do? I also don't consider myself the "extreme" type. It seems like there are a lot of those profiles on this site. I love to hike, bike and swim but I don't have a lot of pictures as proof. I laughed when I saw so many pics of "dudes" showing their abs when I went looking at my competition. Isn't it more fun to find out what's under someone's shirt in person? Besides pics can lie :). Oh, and yes I do look good with my shirt off, lol ;).

Still interested?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
The career thing is sorted out for me. I have a job that I love that pays me well and keeps me comfortable. Right now I'm having fun being a dad. My son is almost three so we are both learning our roles as father and son. Ive learned that being a single dad adds so much more to our relationship. This will continue to be the best and most rewarding adventure of my life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I don't know about "really" good, but I love playing and writing music. I play guitar, bass and I sing in a local band. While we don't get out as much as we used to, we still manage to play out about once a month.

How do I lie about my recent taste in books...... Lol. I've ready a lot of guilty pleasures in the last few years. Dan Brown, Harry Potter, Robert Jordan to name a few of the guilty parties. I'm currently reading Keith Richards' autobiography.

My music taste is pretty varied. Beatles, Decemberists, Taj Mahal, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Pavement, Claude Debussy, the list goes on.....

I love podcasts too: Nerdist, Doug loves movies, how stuff works, how did this get made, smodcast, Hollywood babble on, Adam carolla........

I like comedies and I'm a sucker for action and science fiction movies (most guys are). What is it about explosions and shooting at people after making quippy remarks? Having said that I do love a good documentary and have been known to enjoy a rom com or two. I probably shouldn't admit that I cried at the end of the Notebook. :). Some of my favorite movies include Big Lebowski, Spinal Tap, Help and Hard Days Night (Beatles), Back to the Future, and anything from Wes Anderson.

Favorite quote:
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life."
-John Lennon
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

I only discuss those things face to face. It's a more intimate setting - and there's no paper trail ;)
