My self-summary Propose an edit

Enjoy the tests I wrote for OKCupid :)

Since I cannot officially post my own score (down below for comparison purposes) for the MPAA Film Rating test that I wrote, here is my score and rating explanation:

PG-13 -- 19 language, 24 violence, 30 nudity, and 33 adult themes. PARENTS STRONGLY CAUTIONED: Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13. "A PG-13 film is one which leaps beyond the boundaries of the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, or other contents, but does not quite fit within the restricted R category. Any drug use content will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. A film's single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, requires at least a PG-13 rating.

And my The Best Breakfast Cereal For You Test is Urkel-O's Cereal: "You want your cereal 54% sweet, 78% fruity with 66% cartoons, and you want a chocolate cereal 43% of the time.

And my The Director Who Films Your Life Test I got Kevin Smith: " Your film will be 51% romantic, 43% comedy, 30% complex plot, and a $ 33 million budget.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I saw Led Zeppelin at The Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London, England on 10 December 2007.

Yes, it was amazing, and they played very well. Totally worth it. I fret getting my credit card bills, though. *shudders

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Kissing. After being told so many times, I finally decided to go public with this gift.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

Blue eyes. My new beard. Photos to come ...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

My most valuable book (to me) is The Beatles Recording Sessions by Mark Lewisohn, the day-by-day log of everything The Beatles recorded onto tape and recording techniques and methods. Pure gold to me. Otherwise, I nerd it up with books like The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene, Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan, various Zen Buddhism books, The Power of Myth by Bill Moyers and Joseph Campbell (a nice summation ... reading The Hero With a Thousand Faces is too academic, though I may one day).

Movies: Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, any Mel Brooks film from 1968-1981, Frank Tashlin's The Girl Can't Help It and Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? (gotta love the satiric jabs at 1950's TV), Network (gotta love how a movie made in 1976 foresees the Fox network and Fox News Channel), Dumb and Dumber (it really is funny on other levels higher than stupid), Over The Edge (Matt Dillon burns down the junior high school to a soundtrack with Cheap Trick), Dawn of the Dead (both versions), so much more ...

Music: I will listen to anything, and if I don't like the song or the style I'll listen past all that to hear the production. I must admit to getting increasingly intolerant of the bump 'n' grind rap and drunken flag-waving country sub-genres, but there is some great rap and country out there today done by true musicians and artists. Of course, nothing beats three people in a garage giving birth to some sort of punk rock. Yes, THREE. No more, no less. Guitar, bass, drums, and two of them have vocal mics. That's all.

Food: "Food makes me sick." (what movie?)

TV: Heroes, The Office, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Adult Swim (Cartoon Network), whatever pops up on NetFlix.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

A turntable, another turntable, and a microphone. Just clap your hands.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

Releasing an album of songs, maybe sometime summer/fall 2008. Or whether I should just trickle out the songs on the Internet as I finish them. Like on www.snocap.com ... search for Rhyming Polanskis or Satellite Circus :)

I really need to start performing for an audience again.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Trying to get the high score on my friend's pinball machine if not getting a recording studio tan.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I am a lawyer.

You should message me if Propose an edit

Don't message me unless you reeeeeeallly believe that I need to hear from you. The only reason I haven't deleted my profile is that I'm afraid the tests I've written will disappear, too.
