My favorite book is Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins. I
read a lot of comedic essays and biographies, such as anything by
David Sedaris and Tina Fey's BossyPants. I like a lot of books
written for young adults, because they usually move really quickly
and don't take long to read. I like, but rarely read, crime novels,
non-fiction, medical texts, and a few other things I'm not
remembering right now.
I love movies -- most genres, except for action. Some of my
favorite movies are Forrest Gump, Dazed and Confused, Empire of the
Sun, Goodbye Lenin, Almost Famous, and Frida. My favorite style is
documentary, though I also like foreign, comedy, and drama.
I watch way, way too much tv. I love fake news, such as the Daily
Show and The Colbert Report. I like comedies like 30 Rock and Parks
and Rec. I hate laugh tracks in comedies. I watch several dramas
like Grey's Anatomy, Bones, and Parenthood. I love
documentary-style TV, such as Vanguard and a lot of the medical
stories TLC features. The most embarrassing show I can't stop
watching is Glee. It's a really awful show, but it's got me
I like a few different types of music, but maybe not as much as
most people. Some of the artists I like are Paul Simon, Regina
Spektor, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, James Taylor,
Feist, Ingrid Michaelson, Cake, The Streets, Fleetwood Mac, Vampire
Weekend, Brandi Carlile, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros,
Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Mumford & Sons, the Cranberries,
and She & Him. Some of the genres I like are folk, bluegrass,
indie, late 60s/early 70s, 80s pop, modern ...rock, I guess?
I love food, which is not a real surprise if you've looked at my
photos. I like Indian, Italian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern,
Greek, pizza, Chinese, and I love soup! I have been a vegetarian
since 2001, although I do eat dairy and eggs.
