My self-summary
I love to daydream I was conceived in a world where procreation is not limited to two individuals and I'm the love child of Ursula K. Le Guin, Arthur C. Clarke, Hayao Miyazaki, John Cage and Remedios Varo. I'm not sure what I would look like, but I'm certain I would be fabulous. Not that I'm not fabulous right now, but fabulous in a different way.

I love to read and I’m usually juggling three or four books at a time. I love science fiction and some fantasy. I love art and can easily spend an entire day at The Art Institute, MCA or Cultural Center. I gravitate towards the Avant-Garde but can extract favorite works from all the isms found throughout the late 19th century and onward.

Floral scented anything makes me swoon. I need more lavender scented soaps in my life. A super cute pair of sneakers is way sexier than high heels as far as I'm concerned. I love french fries with my pixa (that's exactly how I pronounce it too).I love cookie soup--especially in the winter. I love Adobe software and all things Apple even though I still don't own an iPhone or iPad. Sigh. I'm excited about CSS3. I'm gradually learning JavaScript and right now I have a love/hate relationship with the language. I want to learn After Effects and Maya. I want to learn more about music, art, psychology, philosophy, history, astronomy, theoretical physics.

I love my overly affectionate yet incorrigible orange tabby kitty.

I love pixels, vectors, pigments and substrates. I have a BFA in graphic design which has yet to yield any results. I'm currently a full time online graduate student studying web design & new media. I consider myself a struggling graphic designer, an aspiring web designer and a closet “artist”. I daydream constantly about making "serious" art and especially sound art. I noodle on the guitar at least once a day. I doodle constantly and sketch fleeting ideas for all sorts of creative endeavors I hope to undertake after I'm done with grad school.

I despise homophobia, sexism, religious fanaticism, a lack of respect for animals, extreme political ideology of any kind and irrational, erratic, inconsiderate, and mean spirited behavior.

Vegetarians, atheists, introverts, neurotics, geeks, nerds and just plain awkward and quirky individuals get plenty of extra points as far as I'm concerned. These truly are my people gosh darn it!
What I’m doing with my life
Temporary design whore, grad school and honing my dorkable ways.
I’m really good at
Graphic design, web design, creative stuff. If you don't believe me check out my online portfolio at: www.birdonbicycle.com. Let's hear it for shameless self promotion. Yay!

Not acting or looking my age apparently. A 35 year old co-worker was until recently under the impression I was 2 or 3 years younger than her.
The first things people usually notice about me
I want to say my smile but it's probably my bald head. I think I have a decent smile but seriously, who can ignore the glare of a well polished chrome dome? No one. As far as bald heads go, I'd like to think mine is pretty nice. At the risk of sounding vain, I'm confident it can give Patrick Stewart a run for his money.
