My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
People have told me I'm funny with a dry sense of humor, smart, a good conversationalist, honest, easy-going and trustworthy.

I have clinical depression, so my demeanor tends to be stoic most of the time.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently moved from Myrtle Beach to Dallas to Portland within a month. Just trying to find a place to call home. I grew up in Dallas. Currently renting a room on the northeast side of town near MLK.

The hobby I most commonly engage in would probably be talking in a chatroom on tinychat called "suchchat". Here's the link to the room. It's fun sometimes, convenient, and a bit addicting.

To get out of the house and out of necessity because I sold my car as part of my financial compromise when moving, I walk often. Probably, on average, 45 minutes to an hour a day. I don't mind it. It's good exercise anyway.

I work at the Hydroelectric Design Center downtown as an intern.

In school full-time for a bachelor's in computer science. Hopefully, I'll graduate by the summer of 2015.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Compared to the general public, I'm good at:

* Backing a semi into a dock.
* Card Counting.
* Programming.
* Camping.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Someone called me "big guy" a while back even though I've lost 80 lbs, so possibly my size?

My large hands. People press their palms against mine to compare.

My roommate said I fit in in Portland because I have black-rimmed glasses and a beard.

I'm shy and tend to keep to myself, especially in public (unless I'm drunk, which I try not to make a habit).

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sarcastic answer:

1. Tea.
2. Masturbation.
3. MY IPOD AND IPHONE!!!! (being trite).
4. The items listed in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
5. Music.
6. A certain mass of incandescent gas.

More serious answer:

I enjoy meditation (non-spiritual and non-religious), unsweetened tea, an occupied mind, humor, travelling, my caloriecount.about.com app.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Lately, the MIPS CPU instruction set. Not very exciting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
not aware of the day of the week.

I'm trying out different activities to find something I have a passion for. Lately, I've been into skiing. Just bought a set of skis and a season pass for Timberline Lodge. I seem to fall down the mountain more often than actually ski, but I'm improving with lessons. Update - I usually don't fall down.

I may try camping or backpacking if I can find a convenient way to do this without owning a car or spending too much money on travel. I'm sure there's a way. If you have any suggestions or would like to include me in any plans of your own, let me know.

I enjoy talking to strangers at bars, but I've been trying to steer myself away from drinking. It's frowned upon by my psychiatrist to drink while using depression meds. Plus, the hangover, weight gain, loss of impulse control, etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I breast-fed John Madden.
