My Self-Summary

Bixkitty is in that ever-so exciting state of limbo between 'McJob' and 'a real career, complete with personal fulfilment'. Ever looking for new friends, she is sociable and open-minded, though not really into straight men. I have plenty of them as friends, and ironically, am dating one, but overall, they aren't the first people I look for in a room of possible dates. Nothing against you straight guys, just girls catch my interest more. She prefers to view gender as a spectrum, or even a 3-D rainbow sphere, upon which she happily identifies as female, and upon which she likes to explore.

I'm not looking for a serious relationship, I'm not looking for an onslaught of one night stands. I'm polyamorous, which means for me that I need to have multiple, simultaneous, open and honest relationships. It just...clicks for me.

I've been described as cute, funny, intelligent, warm. I've also been described as stubborn, moody, and occasionally overbearing.

What I’m doing with my life

I recently received my teaching certification and am most keen to get down to business and teach. This year of courses has taught me one thing above all others: I should spend the rest of my life hanging out with a bunch of 9 year olds (well, a bunch of kids, at any rate).

I'm currently working in a preschool, which has turned into a fantastic job. I'm in the process of upgrading my mad skillz at teaching with a Level III American Sign Language course and some other Additional Qualification courses.

I'm currently dating a few people, about whom I am very excited. Actually, I kind of feel like my dance card is full for the time being, and I'm not inclined to make more space at the moment.

I’m really good at

Teaching stuff, learning new things. I'm moderately good at cooking, am artistically inclined. Very enthusiastic in the sports' arena, though not so much with the skill or talent. Except on the ski hill, where I would easily spend the rest of my days. I'm good at being there for people, trying new things, adventuring, and being patient when I need to be. I have to say that I'm pretty good at over-scheduling, which would lend itself well to being just plain good at scheduling, if I kept a realistic view of time?

The first things people usually notice about me

uh, I guess people have said my smile, my laugh, my eyes. Yep, usually in that order. Though I have come to suspect that by 'eyes', they are referring to other parts of my anatomy. After that, on a 'deeper' level, my bubbly, happy, caring personality. Hey, I'm just going by what people tell me. Not gonna lie.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books, geez. I love a LOT of books, am terrible with authors' (or singers', or actors', or politicians', etc and etc) names, and unfortunately am not so hot with recalling titles, either. But, if its nonfiction, about gender/social justice/ historical stuff, I probably like it. Fiction: am looking to add lighthearted and funny romantic stuff to my current repetoire, as I'm slowly exhausting my love for Stephen King, and all things similar. I'm also coming out of an addiction to Terry Goodkind, mostly out of frustration that he and other Fantasy series writers never seem to finish their series. Am not so enthralled with this, and am leaning more towards following kids' novel series, mostly to be in the know for my profession, and because while they may not end either, they are relatively easy to put down when need be. And, let's face it, its just plain fun to hide out in a kids' novel once in a while.

Movies....I'm not big on owning them, but here is my list thus far: Secretary, Kill Bill Vol. 1&2, Sin City, Imagine You and Me (one of the few ro/co's I enjoy), Incredibles, Chicken Little, some more kids' movies (nothing classically Disney), the Evil Dead Trilogy, Deathproof. My wish list includes She's All That (modernization of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night- cue the geeky squeal), some other modernized Shakespeare film adaptations (hey, they go over really well with the kids when teaching Shakespeare), and a score of documentaries, whose names have eluded me once again (am suitably embarrassed). Some examples are: Sicko, The Beauty Myth, No End In Sight- you get my drift.
Also! I really like Quenton T movies. Like, alot.

I am currently catching up on my National Geographic subscription (yes, I am that person), and have been inspired by a book called 'Green for Life', which gives small and not-so small tips on how to lessen one's imprint on the ecology of the planet. I have to admit, it is seriously keeping my attention. This summer I ploughed through some Sarah Waters (I only have 'Affinity' left), SK, a Sarah Mc something (historical fic around a female lead, 'The Alchemist's Daughter, 'The Rose of Sebastopol'), and some other books, including 'A Day in the Life of Ivan *insert long Russian last name here*, about the experience of prisoners under the Communist Soviet Union. It was all right.

I also really love smutty stuff, like Scarlet magazine, and kinky/bi/queer erotica collections. They are kind of a weakness....

Oh, yeah, and comics. I only really have one that I like- 'Deadpool'. I recently bought the first three of the new storyline, and am woefully behind in my collection, but he rocks my socks. So funny!!

Music... Live is always better than produced!...uh, I have Teagan and Sarah nestled beside some Korn, Deftones, and Peggy Lee, Sarah MacLachlan, The Doors, Jessie Cook, a number of House and Club mixes, Frank Sinatra, some house, Bikini Kill, Royal Wood, Fiest,Melissa Laveaux, Sarah Slean, Rascall Flatts, Dixie Chicks, and Choppin. I like an ecclectic mix of stuff.

Food: mmmm........ good and fresh and healthy, with fruits and chocolate being top-notch... I like a lot of flavour, as opposed to heat for heat's sake.

The six things I could never do without

my dog, moisturizer , my friends, my family, books, sex

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What to do in the future, what to do tonight, this weekend, how my friends and family are. Devising my plan for my next tattoo, how to raise my future kids, how to live in a sustainable and ethically pro-active way, where I want my hobby farm to be (for when I retire), the breed of horses I want to own when I finally have my farm. What to do when zombies attack, how to perfect a lesson plan on any number of topics, and, my dog. he's cool.

On a typical Friday night I am

cooking, going out, staying in, treating my dog to dog parking-goodness, treating myself to social events and friends, spending time with the famille, spending time with the friends/movies/books/internet, running errands, or very very rarely, sleeping.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

uh, I really hate trust- building games, and disclosing in profiles. That said, I have a collection of beat up Breyer horses which I intend to put in a display case in my house, at some point.
