I fix commercial kitchen equipment and heating and air conditioning equipment for my "real job."
Music has been a big part of me since an early age. Right now, I play in 3 different Bluegrass bands. I play banjo, guitar and a few other things. I have also built 5 guitars and helped a friend build one. Music is one of my best social tools and I've made many great friends from it.
I volunteer at a railway museum, working on the steam locomotives, something I wanted to do since an early age. Among all of the maintenance and other odd-jobs, I'm also a fireman (the guy that shovels the coal) when we run the engine for visitors.
My main rule when cooking or making beer is "Never follow someone else's recipe verbatim." It keeps things fresh. I enjoy having a backyard grill-out every so often.
I try to camp a few times a year still. I have a few favourite spots and i usually stick with them. Swimming and sailing are essential and outdoor cooking is an art unto itself. Quality fire time is also very important, whether it's in the backyard or many miles away.
