I am thirsty for knowledg, hungry for adventure, and too awake to sleep..
My Self-Summary
I would consider myself pretty laid back but I do have an edge of
intensity and passion when it comes to a few things. I would much
rather laugh at life's little problems then get angry and violent
as I've spent too much of my time sweating the small stuff and
found that I am much happier not stressing about it. I proudly have
a nerdy streak and I am often found geeking out about something or
other, usually things technology based.
I identify myself as an atheist with a life stance of secular
humanism. I believe in the fair treatment of all people and animals
and I am disgusted by hate, racism, ageism, sexism, religious and
ethnic intolerance and intentional ignorance.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently working a 9-5 in a cube farm, but it's not so bad
because it pays the bills and the people I work with are amazing. I
like to travel and scuba dive as much as I can, and my favorite
thing to think about is where I am going next. I am considering a
job in Antarctica, I want to volunteer in Mexico or another Central
American country, and I really want to backpack all over Asia and
Europe, but all of this is really secondary to my true aspiration;
experience as much as I can before my time is up. I have always
wanted to build a boat, one day I just might do that. I am also
thinking about going back to school to study electronic engineering
but I'm in no rush, I have a lot of things to do before that. I'm
just enjoying the ride.
A few quotes I like:
when life gives you lemons, hey, free lemons!!!
never let school interfere with your education.
live to dive, dive to live.
Travel the world, meet interesting people, and dive with
them.
One joke for you, and yes, it's scuba related:
Why doesn't Chuck Norris use a BCD? Chuck Norris doesn't need to
compensate for anything.
I’m really good at
breathing underwater, day dreaming about traveling, voiding the
warranty on your household electronics, pretending to be a chef,
listening and observing.
The first things people usually notice about me
sorry, you'll need to ask them what the first thing they notice
is.
I hope they see an interesting person, but, and I quote here, you
never know how you look through other people's eyes.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
when I'm reading for fun I usually go for sci-fi or fiction and I
really enjoy cyberpunk. My two favorite authors are John Varley and
Chuck Palahniuk.
My favorite type of movies are comedy and I enjoy seeing indie's on
occasion. I never got into horror, but I'll watch an indie or
b-side to laugh at the effects. I really want to start going to
more comedy shows and theatre.
Music is a tough one, I like a very wide range of music, and some
of my tastes are kinda out there. I like checking out anything
experimental, especially if it's local. strictly speaking, some of
the genre's I like the most are indie rock, punk, industrial, EBM,
hardcore techno (industrial hardcore, noisecore, breakcore) and
ambient.
I have been told I'm a good cook, and one day in the far future I
would like to own a restaurant. One of the things I love the most
about traveling is trying all of the foods I've never had before. I
am happy to say every trip I've been on I've brought something
back; a style, a recipe, or a new spice or herb. I'm not a picky
eater as long as it's not junk or veggies from a can, I love a
perfect steak but I also really enjoy tofu and veggies. I don't eat
fish that often, I would rather swim with the fishies, not eat the
fishies.
The six things I could never do without
water, compressed gas, technology, family and friends, information,
good food (in no particular order)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
nothing.
I also think way too much about what coulda shoulda woulda and
honestly I'm ready to make my move.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home surfing the interwebs, watching a movie or out and about
with my crazy friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am scared of drowning.
You should message me if
any of this sounds interesting to you
You dive (actively or in the past)
you want too!
I respect peoples beliefs and I don't force mine on others. I enjoy
talking about religion though so if you are interested... (but
please, don't try to convert me to your crazy cult, unless you have
a hot tub... no, not even if you have a hot tub. cults are creepy)
