My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
*Labels (I have no knee-jerk reactions to them; words are labels; how we describe the shape of our world): Bisexual, Polyamorous, Optimist, Alpha Female, Dominant, Masochist, Discordian, Hedonist, Shamanist, Carnivore.

*The Rest:
I'm a work in progress, really, with a gift for self-assessment.
I am always there to listen (though I do not pander to narcissism or pettiness). I say what's on my mind and I don't pull punches. Then I feed you. Other than that, here's my likes and dislikes:

-Loves-

-Reading. I go through 3 or 4 books a week. My favorite authors: Robert A. Heinlein, Orson Scott Card, Neal Stevenson, Spider Robinson, Ayn Rand (particularly Atlas Shrugged), Jacqueline Carey (I like to think of myself as a real, live Phedre), Wilbur Smith (up until the last few books, which were horrendous), Jean M. Auel, Tom Holt, Christopher Moore, Anne Rice (yes, I admit it, I had a geekgasm over Blackwood Farm), Warren Ellis (especially Transmetropolitan), Dave Sim's Cerebus comics, Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan Adventures, Robert Anton Wilson, Robert Shea, Joan D. Vinge, Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, and Thomas Harris.

-Music. I listen to just about anything, especially if it's electronic. My favorite artists: Milla, Haujobb, Tricky, Wumpscut, A Perfect Circle, cEvin Key, Portishead, Claire Voyant, Snog, Coil, Foetus, Juno Reactor, Meg Lee Chin, ohGr, Pigface, Wolfsheim, PJ Harvey (that woman can make any word sound like an orgasm), This Mortal Coil, Dead Can Dance, Massive Attack, Delerium, Pearl Jam, Ministry, Tori Amos, New Model Army, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen Bjork, Goldfrapp, Ladytron, Flogging Molly, VNV Nation, Underworld, Black Lung, Assemblage 23, Belly, Big Sir, The Dining Rooms, Skunk Anansie, Lamb, Einsturzende Neubauten, Heather Nova, Gary Numan, Frontline Assembly, DJ? Acucrack, Lard, Nine Inch Nails, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Iggy Pop, The Clash, early Rolling Stones, White Zombie, the Voodoo Organist, Pop Will Eat Itself, Devotchka, and Gavin Friday (Shag Tobacco is my ultimate sex CD).

-Fetish erotica, be it visual or written.

-Single Malt Scotch. I was raised on the stuff.

-Movies. Among my favorites: Requiem for a Dream, Dogma, Deceiver, Donnie Darko, Highway, Seven, Titus, The Red Violin, Secretary, The Emperor and the Assassin, Farewell My Concubine, Velvet Goldmine, The Usual Suspects, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Smokin' Aces, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Natural Born Killers, American Beauty, Death to Smoochy, The Shawshank Redemption, Lucky Number Slevin, Equilibrium, Casino, Goodfellas, The Godfather I and II, The Salton Sea, Delta of Venus, Marat Sade, Shoot 'Em Up, Vanilla Sky, Redd, Inc., Django Unchained, Postal, Get the Gringo, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Black and White and Sex, Shortbus, The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting It On, Bronson, Black Snake Moan, Eastern Promises, Kinsey, and American History X.

-Innovative television. I tend to download my favorites: Six Feet Under, Oz, Weeds, The Sopranos, Rescue Me, Drawn Together, Cowboy Bebop, Venture Bros., Arrested Development, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, Century of the Self, The Power of Nightmares, The Trap: What Happened to Our Dreams of Freedom, Black Books, Top Gear, South Park, The Boondocks, Pushing Daisies, Lie to Me, Criminal Minds, Archer, Hannibal, Justified, The Walking Dead, House of Lies, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl, MasterChef (New Zealand and Australia), My Kitchen Rules, Archer, Suits (the only USA channel series that is written with any degree of skill, Hannibal, and Robot Chicken

-My Macs . Yes, I too am a computer geek. I talk to them and about them like they're my pets, friends, or even my children. I guess I've been reading too many Heinlein Future Histories.

-Loathes-

-Bigotry in any form. I will get just as pissed of when an atheist attacks the beliefs of christian folk as I do when a "normal" person attacks me for looking peculiar. Really, people! Normal is just a setting on a dryer and we're all just speculating about what's up there, out there, and in here.

-Petty gossip and sniping. I do not want to hear mean-spirited remarks about someone else. I do not want to deal with people running up to me, saying that he said she said to this person that I'm a such and such. Take it elsewhere or, better yet, grow up.

-Rudeness. Especially in my home. It makes even the smartest person look like an idiot.

I am contemplative, hedonistic, and eloquent
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm back at school full-time pursuing a psychology degree. It takes up a hell of a lot of time (particularly because I'm a Research Assistant in the Audio Perception Psych lab), but the subject matter's fascinating to me. I'm a big dork about cognitive therapy. Using subtle questioning techniques to help people think -themselves- past logic loops? Beautiful!

Regardless of your interests, if you're into exercising your brain and are having a tough time making ends meet, talk to a university financial aid office. Between grants and subsidized loans, someone who spends modestly can live the life of the mind working only part-time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a confidante (anything you tell me, stays with me), singing (though I'm a bit private about it), making people feel at home, massage, long, engaging conversations, cooking, finding efficient answers to problems, being a repository of useless trivia and historical anecdotes, training and herding cats, and swimming the tides of chaos.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Let's see... People tend to mention my hourglass figure, my eyes, a sultry yet powerful stride, my laugh, and my carriage/bearing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Book: Stranger In a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein

Movie: Das Experiment

Music: rainy day music. I like sultry, sexy, moody tunes.

Food: I love just about any type of food (fast food, Ethiopian, Thai, Korean, Mexican, Vietnamese, all of it), but if you hand me carcass, I'm a happy camper.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Good books
2. Music
3. Good conversation
4. My computers
5. Laughter
6. Hair Dye
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Peoples' stories; motivations...I love people-watching. I also concentrate WAY too much on food, sex, or any combination of the two. Other than that, I'm a daydreamer in my pre-dawn hours, full of thoughts of absurdity and humanity in general.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Giggling at the surreality of life in Downtown Vegas with my neighbors, working on school projects, or curled up with a good book and a glass of scotch.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm totally open to non-traditional forms of families (as a fan of Heinlein and Spider Robinson), but I am still a White Picket Fence kind of girl. While I am a highly capable, free-thinking autodidact, I like to feel protected and cherished.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're able to laugh at yourself and the surreal in daily everyday life. You understand that sh*t happens and you think it's hysterical. You like the feeling of grass on your bare feet and love a rainy day.
