My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I refuse to believe I'm actually less kind than the average 25 year old straight woman on OKCupid.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
hero's journey. just give me a second.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Rolling cigarettes, talking to strangers and the evil eye.
The first things people usually notice about me

Lists were starting to get long and counterproductive, so...

music: sassy guitar bands, Americana (folk/jazz?) 1920-1960, Hot 97 1997-2007, something loosely organized under NYC art punk?

books: science fiction, history books, historical novels, novels that were written long enough ago that they're kind of like histories, biographies, satire, "the great american novel" category.

TV: science fiction, those deeply character-driven hour-long dramas about LIFE in AMERICA, goofy smart stuff. Don't really have guilty pleasures when it comes to TV - either I think it's good and I like it, or I think it's bad and I don't like it.

Lately obsessed with podcasts, and starving for people to talk about them with. There are so many amazing ones and I've barely scratched the surface, but among my so-far favorites are BackStory, Girl on Guy, the Bowery Boys, In Our Time with Melvyn Bragg, the Duncan Trussell Family Hour, the Mental Illness Happy Hour, Harmontown, SuperEgo, Judge John Hodgman, Welcome to Nightvale, The Moth, Professor Blastoff. NPR trifecta: This American Life, RadioLab and Planet Money.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
this is arbitrary, but i'm not above it: Internet machine, coffee, books, tunes, tv shows, done.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whether I can pass off my utter lack of fashion sense as a fashion statement.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting into loud and repetitive conversations at a bar about how the Pixies are way better than Nirvana. or walking home from work (now that the weather's nice) and falling asleep to Buffy or a podcast.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't understand the parameters of this question, and it strikes me as dangerous.

you want to go to a history lecture or walk somewhere or sit down at a table or bar in my company. Is talking to you good? Is talking to me good?

you're comfortable with a woman who neutrally describes herself as "frumpy".

And you don't say "cutie". Psuedo-ironically pointing out how I didn't want you to say it counts, dicktoid.
