My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’d say that virtually all of my previous relationships were pretty much thrown into my lap or I had friends pushing as hard as they could. I don’t have “Game” or whatever someone might want to call it.

You’ve probably known others like me before as that male friend who is great to go to the movies with, who knows a ton about emotions, and is a good listener and shoulder to cry on. You might even know my type as the guy you’d like to setup with your gay friend. And other than the gay setup, I’m all of those things, but I’d like to meet someone who thinks that those are qualities that they want in a romantic partner, not just someone to talk with on the weekend.
Update: The female friend who introduced me to this site read the above and said I come off as being a "sissy" and should add something to the contrary . Here it is:
I'm confident in myself and not a sissy.
There, did that do it? No? Dammit I have to write more?
But in all seriousness, I hold my head up proudly, and look people in the eyes when I talk to them (scares the hell out of some). I can hold my own in most conversations and situations be it philosophical, mechanical, current Events, or random facts. Just not sports, if you try to engage me in a conversation about anyone specific person in any sport, be prepared for me to say something embarrassing.
Almost forgot "Grrrr, Grunt and other Manly noises"

I’m a funny guy, to a fault sometimes.
I’m also very smart, again sometimes too much for my own good.
I have a Job I love
I have a nice clean 3 bedroom apartment all to myself

What I don’t have is someone to share my life with.
Ideally, I’d like to meet someone who has a job and a general sense of direction in their own life. I want to meet someone who doesn’t need someone else, but wants them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I work at a company that specializes in marketing data, as a Database Engineer. So… computer stuff. If I go into any more detail you may, in fact, fall out of your chair in boredom an injure yourself. Seriously, my best friends couldn’t even tell you what I do, that’s how uninteresting it sounds out loud. I do like the job though, and the company is amazing. It’s the only place I’ve ever worked at that gives their employees a happy Hour (yes, with adult Beverages) every 3 or so months. I’m not looking to change that any time soon.

On the personal side, I have few very close friends that I go out with weekly for dinner/drinks/board games / movies / etc.
I’m not really a “club” guy. If you drag me to one, I’ll probably give you a hard time the whole way there, then dance embarrassingly (I know no other way), but have a good time anyway.
I’m good at having fun regardless of the situation for the most part.

I also love camping, be it car camping or backpacking. It's not something you need to be into. I understand if walking 5 miles with 40 pounds of weight on your back then sleeping on the ground might not be your cup of tea.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I’m really good with logic, reason, and math.
I’m also really funny. I’m the guy who’ll listen quietly to a conversation for a long time and just say one line that makes everyone die laughing. Sometimes I’m just in the right mood and get on a roll. Word of warning, I do cross the line sometimes, but most of the time you’ll be laughing while trying to tell me “You can’t say that”. I think of it as “If you laughed at it, then it was ok to say it”

Also, I'm good at cooking. I like to play around with about 5 recipes for the same thing and merge them together to get something altogether better. I'm am also exceptionally good at making a mess out of a kitchen if the recipe involves chocolate in any form. Most of the time you'd barely know I was there, but chocolate gets everywhere.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not a twig, but I’m strong, so there’s a decent amount muscle under there, but it’s padded for US Postal standards. I take a XL shirt, so not ridiculous. As one of my friends put it once, "you're like a big comfy teddy bear... The kind you throw off the bed and make sit in the corner." Yeah I have interesting friends.
If you’re still reading, then I’m hoping that that part doesn’t bother you.
The next thing most would notice is that I have very blue eyes as the screen name implies.
I also have a beard
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music is an interesting one. I listen mostly to Rock, from Classic to Metal. My Favorites are Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy’s, and Killswitch Engage. I like Most Irish music; it makes up about 80% of my day to day playlists. I also like the older stuff like Johnny Cash and Bob Segar. My Guilty pleasures has got to be cover songs and acapella; the more drastic the difference in interpretation the better.
I do Have to say that I dislike Country…A lot….seriously, just stop it…I’m pretty sure that it’s killed more brain cells than beer. For the right person I will try to tolerate it though.

I’ve been told by friends that I have a horrible taste in movies. I like Sci-Fi, Fantasy, superhero, and action movies. This should probably go under the “Private things I’m willing to admit” but I like Musicals, and many movie adaptations of them (sorry Les Mis w/ Liam Nieson, you don’t make that list). I like Comedies and Thrillers as well, but to a lesser extent. Please don’t try to drag me to a sub-titled Euro-port Romance; if I wanted to read while people cry on the background, I’d bring a book to the ER.

That’s brings us to Books. See; it was funny as well as a segue all at the same time. Mostly I read news and tech articles. I just recently received a Kindle as a gift, and am trying to put it to good use, although most of what’s on my list is scientific research or more news.

For TV I watch most of the “SyFy” (that word should not be pronounced Sci-Fi) Channel’s original shows, Eureka, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13. I’m also a Doctor Who Fan. Other shows that I like include Dirty Jobs, Archer, Gold Rush, House, Top Chef, and Master Chef.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A comfortable place to sleep.
Chinese food
News articles.
I'll get back to you on the last one
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about the future and the past and how we got from one and into the other. Music for example; I had cassette tapes when I was young, and it was a big thing when I got my first CD player (still have it). This Christmas I realized that I had to ask my own mother what medium she listens to music on, be it CD’s an apple product or a standard mp3. I have a Godson who by the time he is old enough to buy his own music, he may never need to hold a physical medium in his hand. On the same vein, a couple of my friends listen to Dub-Step, and I don’t understand it. I’m starting to see how parents can say things like “that’s not music”. I can see some of the creativity that goes into creating Dub-Step, but it doesn’t sound like music to me. What will the next generation and the one after that listen to, and will we even recognize it as music.

So… Yeah stuff like that
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I’m usually a go with the crowd type of guy. So much of what happens for me on Friday night revolves around how my other friends’ weeks went. I’m content with a bottle of wine, takeout, and a movie, but I can have equally as good a time in a sports bar watching “the Game” or “the Fight” or Movies and Dinner.
Basically, I can have fun wherever I go.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a vast and wide vocabulary that is teaming with spelling errors just waiting to rear their heads at the most unfortuitous time.
Have you ever written a long winded email about someone or something being an idiot, and then spell the word "intelligence" wrong? Yep, all the time.

Also (not private, but usually unknown) I like dancing at weddings. I'm usually out there from beginning to end. I'll hop in the middle of the circle, and I'll also slow dance with the grandparents.
