British expat finally in possession of that elusive green card!
Though I've kept the accent together with a general aversion toward
American sports but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise. Travel
and soccer are my favorite hobbies and if I don't make it to Brazil
this summer I'll be biking, hiking and enjoying fine craft beer in
the CA sunshine. Looking for a relaxed girl with a great sense of
humor and adventure to enjoy fun dates and more. Oh, and my teeth
are great according to my dentist :-)
What I’m doing with my life
Working for an online travel company connecting customers to the
coolest travel experiences available in North America: from
helicopter rides over Manhattan to meeting a Yankees legend and
blending your own wine in Napa. My work takes me out of SF very
regularly and I must be the only Bay Area resident who doesn't mind
(in fact likes!) United.
I'm a soccer nut who plays in a co-ed league and rolls out of bed
at 7am on the weekend to watch EPL matches. My team is doing pretty
well this season - for once - but after supporting them for 25
years I've learned not to be optimistic :-(
I’m really good at
Leaving everything to the last minute! I consider it a personal
failure if my checked bags are not labelled LATE and the gate agent
doesn't know my name as I stroll up
The first things people usually notice about me
My John Lennon-esque British accent, curly hair and jazzy socks (my
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: I am trying to bolster my viewing vocabulary and am working
my way through classic westerns.
Books: hmm not a strength. Even when on a beach holiday I find an
excuse not to read, like joining in with a game of water polo or
heading to the bar. Must do better! When I do force myself to sit
down and read, I really enjoy Bill Bryson.
Favorite TV show? The Inbetweeners: a cheeky British comedy show
about the adolescent years. Check it out and let me know if you
need assistance with translation as there are some strange terms in
I'm not so adventurous with music but I like to play around with
Spotify most days.
San Francisco has fantastic food, so I'm in the right city! I enjoy
spicy food (see below) and have enjoyed sampling all sorts of
delicious ethnic food since arriving here. Burmese is my favourite
The six things I could never do without
- My passport: I have some odd stamps in there that excite Homeland
Security..not in a good way
- Morning coffee: such a pleasure in the US, service with a smile.
Even if latte drinkers hold me up in the queue.
- My family: rowdy, high maintenance but fantastic company
- Beer - I'm my father's son :-)
- Having at least one vacation planned
I spend a lot of time thinking about
where I'll travel to next
On a typical Friday night I am
eating a curry! I love spicy food and I'm lucky that San Francisco
is blessed with a multitude of great Indian, Thai and Szechaun
restaurants. It would be accompanied by a crisp, cold beer to ease
me into the weekend...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I recently got pulled over for going 28mph over the speed limit :-(
