I'm from DC but ended up in CA for school at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) - my friends would say I have East Coast drive but a West Coast spirit. I love living in the Bay Area...

I work as a speechwriter-spokesman for elected officials (Democrats only) - I started for Ted Kennedy on Capitol Hill in 2002, and then ran for and won elected office in 2004, and after I served for 4 years, I went to work in the Legislature. I'm doing what I love. That's the dream, right?

When I'm not off trying to save the world, I love to BBQ, try new wine bars, watch college football & drive aimlessly (especially along the coast). If I can watch college football at a wine bar with a grill that's right off the coast, then I'm in heaven.

I'm passionate, energetic, witty, charismatic - and while I love what I do, the love I have for those closest to me is the most important thing to me.

Trying to make the world a better place for the less fortunate - working to create equality of opportunity for all.

We all have our roles - mine is to do PR (if you're mean or cynical, you'll call it "spin") because I really love writing and coming up with creative ways to connect with people. And I've even held elected office myself - but what I'm most proud of is actually my first job out of college, which was working for a children's literacy nonprofit.

I try to never forget why I went into my field - to speak out for all those who don't have a voice.
