In having to describe myself, the first thought that comes to mind is that I have been and always will be a bit of a "tom boy". I like getting my hands dirty and working in jobs that are usually dominated by men. I don't do this for feminist idealism; I do it cause it's fun and I'm frankly not interested in sitting all day in an office. I am also extremely well read. I have a passion for the art of writing and have a wonderful collection of books. I also have a passion for snowboarding, camping, and hiking anywhere whether it be Yosemite, the gorge, or an urban romp for a few hours. I care about people and I am in the midst of completing by BS in Community Development. Whether I end up working in that or not, I feel that it has taught me a great deal as far as how important community truly is. I am a good neighbor and will do anything to try to aid my friends and others around me. I could go on, but I'm lazy like "the dude".

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

My Life: I work, I pay my bills, hang out with good people, and try to live each day without regrets. I try to stay current with the news, as depressing as it is, and live without cable to keep my mind sane. I hike every weekend with a friend and do what I need to get by. I don't want to breed and I love crosswords...it may sound weird, but I'm happier than most people I know.

People usually notice my smile which I am usually always doing. Next they notice my laugh and then my witty sense of humor. As cheesy as this sounds, I've been told that my energy and smile light up room many times. I can chat with anyone; a skill I learned from my grandfather and like him it is always sincere.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

I LOVE Bukowski, Brautigan, and Vonnegut to name a few of the many authors I read. Musically speaking, I like all types. I will always have an affinity for the stones since my Dad took me to see them when I was 8 for my first rock show. Subsequently, I missed 2 homecomings in high school to see them as well. I love Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, and a great deal of classic rock (once again my dad's influence). Currently, I also listen to a lot of indie stuff too.I'm pretty eclectic. I don't listen to the radio, other than talk radio, so I have an odd catalog of music. Definitely no modern country or top 40. As far as movies go, I don't go to the theater too often. Occasionally, I will go for a sweet documentary or a movie like No Country for Old Men...I will also travel to the theater for every Wes Anderson flick. Otherwise I rent movies, but no blockbusters...I'm good with not having seen Spiderman, Batman, or Ironman. I choose to not let Hollywood dictate me. I would rather watch a doc on anything than waste my time watching these movies.I eat anything, but fish. Just don't like it. Grew up with a family that had a seafood restaurant and can't do it. I love to cook and I am definitly not a vegetarian.

Typically, I will go and play pool with my best friend/neighbor or just stay in and hang out with him making jokes about the work week and the crazy scenarios we were involved in during the week. been keeping it simple and when friday rolls around I'm pretty beat from the work week.
