Things you should know

I don't generally update this journal, because that's what LJ is for (and I'm willing to be you can figure out my LJ name).
But, I figure I should put the following things out there:
-When I say I'm "kinky", that means I'm into BDSM. I'm active in the local scene in DC, and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself, because I've made wonderful friends, the kind I thought you couldn't make after college. But, generally speaking, I'm not a top, so don't ask me to tie you up.
- I have a "boyfriend", for lack of a better term. He's married. He is not cheating. She knows, she has a boyfriend, they're poly. And I'm poly too, for those of you who haven't figured it out. I used to think I wanted the Cinderella happily-ever-after, but my version of happily ever after is changing as I realize there are more possibilities than Disney ever told me about. If you're monogamous, I'm probably not the girl for you.
- I don't believe in "looking out for number one". At least, not in the way a lot of people mean it. I don't think I am "number one". I believe that letting myself burn out does a disservice to the people I care for, and thus taking care of myself is important, but I believe that it takes a village to do most things and that the village is more important than I am. I find that the communitarian philosophy is the one I most agree with.
I have ended relationships because of fundamental philosophical differences, so I feel it's only fair to let you know up front. If I don't want you teaching your values to my kids, you're gone.

A piece of advice

If you send a girl a message, have something more to say than "hello." If you say "hello", I'm going to say "hi" and then the ball's back in your court. Tell a story, ask a question, make a joke, but don't expect me to carry the whole weight of the conversation. If you messaged me, I assume it's because there's something you want to say to me, or something you want to know about me. I'm happy to have a conversation with interesting people. But conversation is like tennis- it only works if both people participate. If I just wanted to ramble, I'd post to my blog.

A piece of advice

(Untitled)

My boyfriend has found a second girl. This creates a number of interesting conflicts and questions and we're trying to figure it all out. But one thing it has done for me is bring home the reality that he and I will not be together forever. I want to get married, and he doesn't (I'm not sure I'd want to marry him anyway). I truly believe that the Powers that Be put us in one another's path, and we are great friends and I'm very, very happy that I met him and that we could be what we have been to each other. But I also believe that we were meant to serve a very specific purpose in each other's lives, and that it will eventually be time for both of us to move on. I'm just not sure how I'll know when that time is...

No, I don't want to see your c*ck

I get that men, are, generally speaking, more visual than women, and they like to see pictures. I get why guys want more pictures of me, especially sexual pictures, pictures of my breasts and genitalia and all. And I do respond to a cute guy or girl, but I'm not a visual person really at all. When I fantasize, there's not a picture in my head. There's a scenario, maybe some words, and an idea of what it would feel like, but the guy doesn't even have a face. When I have sex, my eyes are closed, pretty much 100% of the time (unless I'm changing positions or trying to figure out where the hell you went or I want you to see how much I love you).
So, I don't really care what you look like. Sure, it's nice if you're handsome, and you've got a nice-looking body, but I don't really look at cocks. And I don't want to see yours, because really, I don't care what it looks like. I don't care how big it is, or whatever, I'm not going to look at it and say "wow, that's a nice-looking cock." Because no cock is nice-looking. Nice-tasting, nice-feeling, sure, but not nice-looking, at least not in my book.

What "kinky" means

"Slang. marked by unconventional sexual preferences or behavior, as fetishism, sadomasochism, or the like." (Random House Unabridged Dictionary, Dictionary.com)

I like kinky sex. This does not mean that I have any desire to have sex with you. This also does not mean that I'm a Dominatrix/Domme. I am, in fact a submissive. I don't want to whip you or fuck you with a strap-on or have you worship my feet. I like to be on the receiving end of the whip.

Just thought I'd clarify.

Myers-Briggs Personality

So, I was just trying to take the Myers-Briggs intuition test, and I couldn't. Because both answers for each question described me. How do I behave? It depends on the task at hand. I like step-by-step instructions, but when left to my own devices I tend to work in bursts of creative energy. I like things that I can work through in a step-by-step manner, like geometry proofs and equations, but I don't like detailed descriptions of things. I rely on hunches and intuition but I find a lack of common sense irritates me.

On another website, I scored as an ENFJ, here I'm an ENFP. When I took one at the Career Center at my undergrad school, I scored near the middle on most of the qualities. My response to the questions depends on how they're worded, and my mood, and what I imagine the other relevant information to be. I've found the tool to be quite useful in understanding my boyfriend (esp. since he's the same type as my best friend), but I find it interesting that my personality is so borderline that it can change depending on the wording of the question and my mood at the time I answer.

Communism, in concept:?

Communism, in concept:
  • Good
  • Bad
  • Same as capitalism
  • No idea / this question doesn't interest me

Honestly, my answer to this (having read parts of the Communist Manifesto) is that communism works on a small, voluntary scale, but it doesn't work if it's enforced. It fails to take into account certain fundamental properties of human nature.

So I'm saying "Bad" because it's bad in the way it's generally practiced, but "inherently flawed" is really my answer.

What is your opinion about softcore...?

What is your opinion about softcore pornography magazines such as Playboy and Playgirl?
  • Shows the beauty of the human body
  • Degrading to the models
  • Doesn't matter to me

I don't have a problem with them, I just don't enjoy them that much, because I tend to prefer stories to pictures, and I tend to like my pornography a little more hardcore.
