My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm single, never married and no there's nothing "wrong" with me, I have been close just not quite over that last hill. I don't have kids but they like me and I like them, preferably medium rare with an apple in its mouth.

I can be a bit opinionated and have little, if any, problem expressing that opinion regardless of whether that upsets people or not. I am an atheist, that means I don't believe there is a god, it does not mean I hate god or that I worship the devil or dance around trees (well not for religious reasons any way)

Like many people I describe myself self with lots of words that end with "ist' but I don't like "isms" when they become someone's identity. I'm much more than one word or hopefully a collection of words could convey. I'm looking for someone similar whose identity isn't tied to "isms" or being an "ist.'

That said words are the easiest way to describe ourselves. I'm far left leaning politically, I'd be a socialist but I enjoy the decadence that only a capitalist society can provide. I'm, for the most part, anti authoritarian but I don't run around yelling "ANARCHY" at the top of my lungs. I love animals but I still eat meat, I could never kill my own food and if I had to hunt animals to eat I would be a vegetarian.

I believe that no good deed goes unpunished but that doesn't stop me from trying to perform them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with the second half of my life. I've managed restaurants for 20 years and have burned out on it. I am taking the winter time off (a perk of living in Cape May County) to rethink my plans. I may end up learning some new facet of the restaurant industry, I've always wanted to be a baker and run a little donut and pastry shop, especially since there are none around here any more.

I've also gotten back into running after 5 years away from it, thanks to a partially torn Achilles tendon.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Calming scared and upset animals, I've volunteered at animal shelters off and on for over ten years and have a gift for dealing with our furry friends.

remembering unimportant things which make me great at trivia
The first things people usually notice about me

If you know me and haven't seen me in a while it's probably that I've shaved my head (the girl butchered my hair and I didn't want to look like Don Rickles) or that I've lost about 80 pounds)

If you don't know me it's probably that I'm a six foot tall guy with a shaved head

The pictures are not recent, there are new ones coming as soon as I replace my phone which had a cat related accident at the shelter.

I could be here all day typing this part meaning you'd be here all day reading it and as much as I'd love for you to be stuck on my profile for hours on end I don't think that's very fair.

You'll get three for the price of one here:
When I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich I use a different knife for each.

The first thing I look at on a woman's profile is what books, music and movies she likes.

If your answer here something in the vein of "it's private' then you're either boring or can't read and either way I'm not interested. This section is supposed to be a fun little ice breaker not some intimate disclosure about that one night you had in Thailand twenty years ago.
