Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I don't think anything I put here will feel entirely right as a
summary - how to be objective about myself? I'll just list some
random things about me:
I love the oceans and wildlife of most kinds.
I believe honesty is important, both on a personal and a global
scale. This maybe makes me some kind of optimist. I love writing
, and T.V. /film
I prefer the dreams of the future to the history of the past. I am
(trying to) learn my lessons from the past to help realize my
dreams of the future; it can be a uphill battle.
One of my biggest dreams is to attend Burning Man one year.
I am Mercurial,, Serpentine, and Peripatetic
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking and listening. I love writing, though I get writer's block
from time to time. I like reading, and walking & talking with
people over long distances. I'm good with pets, as long as I'm not
allergic to them, and I once kept a plant alive for five years. I'm
pleased I was able to do that.
I'm occasionally inclined to begin some sort of discourse, on any
topic, about fairly obscure stuff, rather out of any obvious
context. A past, a perspective present, a possible progressive
prophecy; point is that I'll listen to, respect and respond to a
persons point of view, though I'll argue more when drunk.
When I was a kid I built toys out of scrap (I want to get back into
that as an art form, but space is an issue).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Anything by Iain M. Banks, David Brin, Kim Stanly Robinson and
Hunter S. Thompson. I'll read almost anything. Lately read 'The
Road' by Cormac Macarthy... what a powerful book. Stephen Kings
'Dark Tower' books. Just finished Tropic of Cancer. There's so many
I enjoy well made crime drama's, comedy, and the SF classics. I
love SF in general, but there's a lot of crap out there.
My musical taste is far too eclectic to get into, but I had a long
love affair with techno that never really went away. My favorite
band is Garbage.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1- All that Life Stuff, you know, air, water, food, shelter.
2- A few real friends.
3- A good backgammon partner, in short supply these days.
4- Freedom of movement and expression.
5- Nature (can be placed with #1).
6- An enjoyable occupation (can go with #4).
7 - Direction instead of floundering.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future and the past. I should concentrate on the present, yet I
often think about my personal future, and the future of the world;
about everything in it. Helps when writing S.F.
Where will we be in fifty years? Better off? Worse? Probably
somewhere in between.
Are we alone in the universe? What do Octopus & Dolphins think
Will excess consumption of Spices and Herbs help me live longer?
And do I really want to? Will Humans ever visit Mars?
I also generally try to not consume too much news media, that stuff
can get depressing and is ninety percent bullshit.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working. Then either going out or going home.
