If you imagine a bubbling cauldron of, I dunno, how about jambalaya?, tucked inside a plain brown paper bag, I'm kind of like that.

Now, granted, in the real world, that would be a leaky and short-lived paper bag, but I'm not leaky at all, so I guess we'd have to say that I'm a *magic* paper bag.

Don't let the bag fool you. With me, what you see is less than what you get. I'm a pretty determined, probing kind of guy. I feel things more deeply and I'm more whimsical than some people realize at first.

So let's talk about how you're doing. REALLY doing. Or let's cut up like two little kids, happily living in the moment. With me, you can count on doing some of both, at different times and perhaps in different places, if you're game.

As a social worker working for Wake County, I mainly help people who are newly diagnosed with HIV get into medical care and get connected to other resources that they want or need. I get to use both my English and my Spanish in working with my clients.

This month, I'll be landing on Planet Fitness, resuming weightlifting after a 15-year hiatus and braving an elliptical for the first time in my life, all in the name of losing weight and long-term health. Banzai!

Currently, I'm living in North Carolina. However, come September 2011, I may bolt for somewhere in the greater Denver, Colorado area. Ultimately, that decision may come down to where my (eventual) partner and I, deciding together, want to live.
