My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Fun-loving, saucy, politically aware/active, genderqueer,
NPR-addicted, caffeinated, socially-conscious, science-y drummer
type in an open relationship seeking friends,
companions, maybe more(?) for scintillating conversation, witty
banter, dates out on the town (or dates in, if things are going
well:)) Intelligence is a must, though I'm not talking strictly
book-smart here -- there is something to be said for emotional,
spritual, and practical smarts as well. Honesty is a must for me
too -- my girlfriend and I are actually both here on OKcupid and always
keep the lines of communication open regarding our polyamorous

I'm a big music lover with my tastes ranging everywhere from Celtic
New Age (Lorenna McKennit, Enya) to funk (Tower of Power, Stevie
Wonder) to classical (Tchaikovsky, Bach, Handel), and the list goes
on and on. . . I've been out of the local music scene for a bit
since my wife and I adopted kids, but I'm starting to get the ol'
feelers out again in search of a new band to to get the ol'
drumming chops going again. I can't wait:)

I also *adore* trail running and try to get to Middlesex Fells as
often as I can, especially in the summer months. I am not afraid to
pee in the woods, choose the craggiest trail, or step in something
squishy -- it's all part of the experience:) I'm a regular at the
gym (I'm of the ungodly-hour-of-the-morning-crew) and don't mind
asking Mr. Incredible Hulk there if he's all done on the bench
press (since I've only got a limited amount of time once I
arrive!). I do enjoy staying physically strong, and boy does it
come in handy when hauling drum kits into clubs (yep, it's always
the drummer that has to set-up early!)

Random Thought: Hmm -- a polyamorous drummer -- would you call me a polyrhythm??? :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I feek so lucky to be working for an amazing amazing start-up bio/solar fuels company!!!! I feel very strongly that it's time to wean ourselves of fossel fuels and start seriously investing in renewable technology. "Liquid Fuel From The Sun" . . keep your eye out for it:)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Blending my rhythms in to all sorts of music across the spectrum, lingering kisses
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My fauxhawk, which is really bordering on a mohawk:) Update: It's now a full-fledge mohawk!! At work I can often be found crouching down just enough so my "fin" can be seen over the cubicle wall, to which I'll proudly announce "landshark"! I'm considering adding in some electric blue streaks -- what do you think?? Update: I went for it -- now I'm the blue landshark!!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: People's History of the United States, Perfectly Legal, The World Without Us, (guilty pleasure->) Steven King Novels (especially "It"), The Complete Zombie Survial Guide, The Zen of Zombie (those last two are diametrically opposed -- the first is a great step-by-step guide to surving the onslaught of our undead counterparts, while the other explains why zombies are superior to humans and exactly how one can zombify oneself. Both equally awesome.)

Movies: What The Bleep Do We Know Anyway?, Fried Green Tomatoes, War of the Worlds, What Dreams May Come, zombie flicks, natural disaster films, apocalypse and post-apocalypse flicks

Shows: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and most Joss Whedon shows), Dark Angel, Carnivale, Glee, The Office, Commander-In-Chief

Food: (vegan) Italian, Indian, Japanese
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My drums, coffee, NPR, a job that I can't wait to go to every day, vegan pizza, my sense of hearing
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Animal rights, global climate change, how to get the hell off of big oil and on to renewable energy, race/class politics, and generally how to make the world a better place for my kids.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
"Netflixing out" with my girlfriend, going out to dinner (or maybe ordering in), reading the newspaper
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a sucker for the electric cello. . .
