I like people to be sincere. I like to think I've got a decent sense of humour but I don't like the passive-aggressive way people sometimes behave under the guise of 'banter'. I don't like machismo. Or arrogance, I don't understand it.
I believe people should be able to do anything they want as long as it doesn't directly harm anyone else. I am aware of the irony inherent in making that statement after listing complaints about how others behave but I do really believe it - I might not like someone else's choices, opinions, actions etc. but as long as they aren't harming anyone pretty much anything is ok by me.
I love music, films and books and will happily chat about any and all of these extensively. I’m also a big art fan and I like going to galleries. I’m into culture and I love going to museums and the like, don’t go to the theatre much but I think I’d quite like to. I think I’m reasonably intelligent and I like good, interesting conversation.
I’m a bit of a geek, I love learning (especially history), I have an interest in politics and philosophy, I watch documentaries and I play the occasional computer game.
Oh and I love the natural world - trees, landscapes, seascapes as well in fact, yeah all of that.
Aside from all of that the bits below and the various match questions thingies provide a fairly accurate picture of me, though there is more to me of course (as is the case with most people!)
If you like what you see please do say hi :-)
I've lived in the north, south and middle of England and been fortunate enough to visit quite a few other countries (would love to visit more!)
I work for the NHS in Governance, it's mostly very boring and frustrating, but it is also occasionally rewarding.
Making people laugh, well, my mates anyway, so again in the right company I guess :-)
I'm a decent cook, not sure about 'really good' but definitely 'competent'.
My eyes are apparently fairly notable as well.
1. 1984 2. The Rules of Attraction 3. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? 4. On the Road 5. Generation X

I've of course got a lot more than a top 5 for all the above but I don't want to give everything away! Lol. Same goes for food preferences, TV shows etc - ask and I'll happily tell :-)
2. A computer (unfortunately, though part of me really wouldn't mind trying!)
4. My family and friends
5. The natural world
Why I'm almost always wide awake at midnight and barely functional in the morning.
What it was like to be alive in different bits of the past and what it will be like to be alive in the future.
Whichever book I happen to be reading.
Equally happy to stay in though if the company is right :-)
You're open minded and tolerant.
You like intelligence and good conversation.
You don't hate geeks. I'm not into everything geeky and it's certainly not all I am, but if you really hate sci-fi and games you'll probably not be interested in me.
