I am ecclectic, wonderful, and chaotic.
My Self-Summary
hmmm, well basic statistics wise i am a 22 year old female who is
working part time and going to university full time. personality
wise i am pretty laid back, analytical, friendly, open, chatty and
optimistic. i still feel pretty young, i think that's okay.
i love
camping,
road trips, laid back bars, loud bars, live music based bars,
breweries, non-super-fancy restaurants, spending time with my good
buddays,
the
aquarium, laser shows, shopping for dresses, cooking, movies,
shows, theater, dance, tv on dvd, cards games and
board games, shooting the shit,
talking shit, exploring nature at a relaxed pace (she wants to take
it slow, baby), looking at and making art, walking and talking and
chewing gum while
blowing bubbles so big they
stick to my glasses, wow i am good at multitasking, riding bikes
although i am currently bikeless, racket sports of all kinds,
swimming, and pretty much anything that i can be convinced would be
fun.
in closing, my heroes are dolly parton and
the hedonism bot.
What I’m doing with my life
going to school (
sociology and
psychology, full time). working (ABA
therapy, part time).
socializing. working on leaving well
enough alone.
I’m really good at
knowing people. i have a knack for really "getting" a person within
a short time. even if they don't pour their heart out to me and
tell me their deepest darkest secrets (sometimes they do) i think
i'm pretty good at understanding a person's motivations,
personality, etc. i think it's because i have keen powers of
observation, and my interests lie in the human realm, mostly. this
leads to giving good advice and being a good friend.
i also notice lots of stuff that most people don't, outside of the
human realm.
i can also read fast. some things i can do moderately well but
enjoy:
sewing,
cooking, dancing.
The first things people usually notice about me
well i surely don't know. probably my gender, as that is usually
the first judgment a person makes. then my body size and shape,
age, and so on. i hope they eventually notice something about my
personality and my pretty hair :).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'm trying to narrow this down so it's not so overwhelming!
Books. I really like salacious and or funny fiction. I get enough
tough reading in school, I want something entertaining when I read
for fun. Recent favourites have been Charles Bukowski,
David Sedaris, and
Tom Robbins.
Movies. I like my movies like I like my books! Nothing too serious,
funny, and with an edge. I have a friend who manages a movie
theater, so I get to see a lot of movies for the heavily discounted
price of free. So... favourites... Almost Famous, Superbad,
Rushmore, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Royal Tenenbaums... and so
on.
Music. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, I like something
from every genre except techno/eclectronica. Most listened to
genres would be indie, hip hop, and pop. Some artists I like: Paul
Simon, A Tribe Called Quest, Kid Cudi, Broken Social Scene,
Destroyer, Animal Collective, Belle and Sebastian... and I better
stop now cause I don't want it to turn into a MEGA LIST.
(d)i like food, especially food that i don't understand how to make
for my self. like indian, or sushi.
The six things I could never do without
- laughter- the kind that wells up from my tummy and spills out
over my lips and makes me cry and makes my stomach muscles
sore.
- my puppies! i sadly don't live with them any more, but i need my
puppy fix at least once a week. (and yes, at 10 and 12 they are
still puppies).
- privacy. i need some alone time every once and a while or i'll go
crazy. i'm living all by my self for the first time ever and it's
faaaaaaaaaaaantastic.
- my family and friends, they love me, i love them, everybody needs
a little love! luckily, i have a lot!
- music. gotta have tunes.
- tea, earl grey being the all time favourite, peppermint and
blueberry-cranberry white tea rounding out the top three.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Social interactions. For instance, if I talked to that person
sitting across from me on the bus, what would I say? How would they
respond? And so on... I also think about things I'm learning about
in my post secondary institution, such as the protestant work
ethic, or the bystander phenomenon, or whirling dervishes in the
Sufi religion. I also think about things that worry me, which more
often than not is the health of my grandmothers and ghosts.
Seriously. I am really scared of ghosts. Don't bring it up.
On a typical Friday night I am
painting the town red.
