My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Does everyone say they are unconventional? Or that they're an artist? Does it count that I have lived off of the arts and show business for the last 10 years?

Intellectual non-academic, I dropped out of high school at 15 and again at 17. Then I dropped out of university at 21 and just dropped out of college at 28! Apparently I'm big on quitting. Or I hate school.

The plus side of this is that I know a little bit about nearly everything, from economics to art to bike mechanics to music.

I'm definitely a feminist, and the challenges women face as independent members of society enrages me, as does the challenges and discrimination faced by people of color and the working class/impoverished, and the disabled, and the old. I can discuss that and the other power dynamics of our society endlessly. If you disagree, then we will probably find each other very annoying... so message me only if you are also impassioned by the unfair social constructs of our world and history which leads to the oppression, sickness and death of billions! (Is this just a ruse to ensure no conservative men message me? It's worth a shot, right?)

I'm weird, bold, sometimes sharp and funny, I'm a pretty good idea for a date at the least.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've been a music booker in NYC for 3 years, and I opened and ran a music venue in Brooklyn. Now I'm about to intern in a recording studio in London, England, so I only have a couple months left in Canada. I am Canadian, born in Manitoba, although that has very little bearing on who I am, as I havent lived there in over 10 years.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Public speaking.

Giving a massage.

Travelling light and solo.

Reading minds.

Fixing and being handy.

Making spaces beautiful.

Sex. (I have literally taught classes)

Making food.

I'm bad at accepting authority, and not so good at saving the world.

The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably that I'm weird and pretty. Or that I look like I'm from the future.

This question is the worst, taste is so subjective and not an indicator of chemistry! But I guess I'll play along:

Some books I've read recently that I liked were Sex at Dawn, the Diary of Anais Nin, Yes Please by Amy Poehler is great, and so is Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham. I really like cracking jokes and the other women who do so. I'm currently reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, although I'm finding it very gendered and male-centric which is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I'm also reading Liespotting, a non-fiction on how to spot lying. So watch yourself on our first date, I'll be able to tell about that thing you always hide. ;)

I love movies. I will see basically anything but I might get mad at gender/race portrayals in low-brow stuff.

Musically, I'm all over the place, listening to weird german electronic music after an afternoon of Cole Porter classics. I'm more inclined to listen to bollywood soundtracks than top 40. But good music comes from everywhere.

I really like a hugely diverse amount of food. I also like sustainable and ethical practices. This makes me very torn. Ethiopian is basically my favourite. This makes Nazareth my favourite restaurant in Toronto. (hint)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
eating good food, a comfortable bed with good sheets, reading articles on the internet, intellectual conversation with cool people, freedom and purpose.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Human rights, authenticity, sustainability, pleasure, love. How to make the world and myself better.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There is no typical, but I'm much more likely to see some live music than be at a bar or club.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I went to Burning Man and got kicked out of the orgy dome. Luckily it wasnt my first orgy.

You are intelligent, mature, defy convention and know how to have a good time without drinking or drugs. (not that drinking or drugs are bad, I've done plenty, just not necessary)

Or if you are interested in joining my cult.
