My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I travel for work and my location updates based on where I am staying. I'm looking for both friends and maybe a lover. I live in Southern Oregon where i grew up - returning after 20 years of living in Portland and the East coast. I miss having strong queer culture and would welcome more queer identified progressive friends of all ages and interests. I travel to Portland every 5-6 weeks and Roseburg monthly for work. I travel to Phoenix, AZ several times a year and Denver usually at least annually for training.

I'm a femme, PhD educated, employed, and physically and mentally healthy. I am fit. For a lover, I do require someone with similar offerings in the financial, physical and mental health stability areas. I also can't be partnered with a smoker as I respond negatively to cigarette smoke (migraine trigger). If you want to hang out, I can hang as a friend only if you aren't a heavy smoker and can refrain from smoking during social settings for several hours at a time. I'd never consider a romantic relationship with a smoker.

I do like and enjoy the company of men as friends and I am not into hanging out with women who are either man haters or are "bi for a guy" types or curious women (non-virgins only, please)....

I am liberal, conservation/environmental leaning, non-smoking (again), local food supporting, dark chocolate, coffee drinking, non-addictive type but drink occasionally, omnivore, enjoy a good belly laugh, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently decided to abondon my doctoral disseration after attaining ABD status and completing all the research - foolish but I lost interest. I've been riding motorcycle (long rides of several hundred to a thousand miles over a long weekend or week) and creating other mayhem. I'm working for my mortgage and paying off my student loans but I do enjoy my job fortunately - yet still I work to live and have good work - life balance. I am trying to keep up with the yard - but I don't really enjoy the grass part (one day I will convert it to all edible to the dismay of my neighbors). I have a classic car under restoration that is fun to cruise in shows. I enjoy all the seasons and company of friends pool or fireside! I also don't mind time by myself. I'm also training a young dog (or she is training me).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Procrastination - particularly completing one big dissertation which I finally decided not to finish! Getting ready in a hurry and still looking fabulous! I'm faster than most butches (love women of all types though). I"m femme on the outside, tomboy on the inside - grew up on a farm and know how to use power tools (besides the Hitachi). I eat meat and yes, I know where it comes from! I've raised it myself! I am at a loss for being verbose at this moment although everytime I come to the site it encourages me to add words - I'm not sure to what end!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My shoes - lots of Fluevog wingtips (because I like retro style but can't wear heels) and novelty socks! If they see them below my chest! I'm trying to score a 500 (now 1000) word profile so I can feel more "complete"! How does being boring and wordy make one more "complete" anyway!?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I own several televisions but I do not subscribe to cable or satellite television services. From My Facebook Profile: TV Shows: Fringe, The Wire, Law & Order, Torchwood Music: Lilith Fair, reggae, bluegrass, classic rock, 80s, Candye Kane. Books include mostly non-fiction right now due to the school gig (update - now I can catch up on my fiction). I do enjoy some hot vampire erotica, crime suspense/thriller type books, some horror (thriller style). I read more than watch tv. I love good food (support your local CSA). I am a member of a few local wineries, but I'm not a wine snob - I just know what I like - mostly reds and sweet whites. I also think beer should be opaque but will sometimes drink something light but not often! I eat meat and yes, I know where it comes from, I grew up on a farm and buy local meat only. I loathe Monsanto and factory farms. When the temperature reaches 100+, I like to take the day off and float the river. I don't work most of December and as I don't observe religious holidays, I often find myself traveling.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Water for hydration, water based Lube, Moisturizer with sunscreen, dental floss, and my papillon & Rhodesian ridgeback dogs (that makes it six, huh?)!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my naval and figuring out how many words does it take to be complete?! How many licks does it take? Why do results vary and what happens if I try it at home?! I think about eating sushi at least 5 times a week and often eat it at least twice a week. But, I do know that most sushi is not sustainable and it guilts me - not enough to stop eating it yet. I would like to find new interests of hobbies - kayaking and fly fishing are on the short list.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking for something to do but rarely finding it - ending up surfing the web or walking the dog.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Shhhh it's not private if I tell - okay, I have piercing, tattoos, and other body modifications (now don't you want to ask).

You've been naughty! Or if you're nice! You generally have good grammar (lack of spell check is okay), don't use made up words (except in texting), and know the difference between your and you're or there, their, and they're! No, I'm not the grammar police - it's just a pet peeve!
