My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Single white male seeking smart beautiful women for walks around town lake, sharing dinner, movies in or out and the like. Please be personable and funny, fit and active is a plus. I am looking for someone that's into me that I'm into.

I am a passionate and caring person and I like having someone I care about around but I have found out some things about myself and online dating I should express up front. I'd like to find someone to hang out with. I don't care if you're exclusive, I can be or not. I will do what I say and I don't like to be questioned about what I do when I'm not with someone. I need my own space and will give that too. I'd like to see someone once or twice a week to talk to and hang out and have sex with, but I don't want to live with anyone or be expected to have progressively intense emotional attachments. I'm not the type of person that likes to text all day or have to deal with repercussions from not returning texts immediately, I'm not jealous and I don't deal well with jealousy. I am pretty autonomous. I like to cook and like paying for dinner and a movie, but I like to map my time out, I have a regular job and I like regular sleep, and I always have things to do outside of work, I can take time off when I want, but I need to plan. I will give that type of respect for time to anyone I date.

My age and height are real, my pics are pretty recent, I've been unmarried for the last decade and have had a couple of relationships since I've been divorced, I'm friends with the mother of my (grown) kids, I have health insurance...

I know how everyone feels about bathroom selfies but how can I take mine down? Tiger T, sexy pose, dirty mirror... That's the perfect dating site pic!

I like classic and vintage things. I drive an old truck and I have an old motorcycle. I like maintenance, and improving things.

I'm fun, thoughtful, generous, kind, educated, traveled and well read. Mechanical, technical, analytical and handy. Politically I consider myself a centrist, which makes me a flaming lefty as a white male in Texas. I believe in choice, education, and equality.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Great question, I wonder. Some people have destiny, some chase their tail. Trying to learn to direct the situation.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Washing dishes and clothes, making and breaking a budget, charming the socks off folks.
Kissing. Perfecting the kissing skills. I'm an excellent kisser.
The first things people usually notice about me

How crazy it is that he's single. So cute and funny and smart. What's wrong with him?
Wait, that's what I think about me...
Probably my eyes. Tengo brillante bonito ojos azules.
A colleague of mine, a gay Mexican fellow, told me that. It was very sweet. I did not kiss him though.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books
Classics: Hemingway, Bellow, Tolstoy, Faulkner and more. Contemporaries: Richard Ford, Eugenides, Tom Robbins, Vonnegut, McMurtry, Roth.
Pulp: Rice, King, Grisham and my childhood reading, Louis L'amour.
Recently Cormac McCarthy, James Elroy, Nabokov.
"Moby Dick" and "The Man of La Mancha" are on my nightstand.
I usually read the Pulitzer for fiction.
This list has a glaring lack of female writers. I love Harper Lee, Flannery O'Connor, Alice Munro, and many more.

Movies
All the regular stuff. I go to the theater for Scorsese, the Coppolas , Wes Anderson, the Coens, you get the picture(show). Paul Thomas Anderson.
There are classics I can't turn off if I come across them when flipping channels.

Shows/Music
Lots of old school stuff, punk, Motown, Texas music, and stuff on the radio. I think Jack White is a genius. The National, The Flaming Lips, Lyle Lovett, Stevie Wonder, Aretha, LL, the Beasties, Pixies/Breeders, The Clash, The Temptations, Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, Raul Malo/The Mavericks, so many talented people, so little space.

Food
I studied cooking and cooked professionally in the 90's and now casually for my friends and family all the time. I can do fancy but it's been a while since I've made a Bearnaise. I make chocolate mousse. I will cook for anyone. I like most anything fresh and not or lightly processed. Thai, Vietnamese and Indian food, and vegetables and fish. Mexican food and BBQ. I strive for a tasty, healthy, sustainable diet.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
You!
You!
You!
You!
You!
(and) YOU!

How about six things I'm over?
Mc Donalds, Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Bud Light, chicken, and traffic.
That was much easier that what I can do without. (I had my first sausage McMuffin in over a year about a month ago, spent $3 in Wal-Mart in the last 9 years because I was super desperate, think Starbucks tastes burnt, will only drink free Bud Light if its the only thing left and I really want a beer, poultry grosses me out, and I just hate traffic)

Things I do or use every day that I wouldn't want to change:
I drink french pressed shade grown organic fair trade locally roasted bicycle delivered coffee. (That's not true, no bicycle delivery available where I live that I know of.)
KUT, NPR and the BBC.
Harper's Index
Internet.
Exercise.
That's all I can think of.
Wait, clean socks and underwear...
How many is that? Do you count the socks and underwear separate? I'm pretty sure the coffee and the press go together. How about the radio stuff? A dilemma.
I love my 70 Chevy C10.
And kissing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my doorbell... When you gonna ring it?
Peace in the Middle East.
Value on all sorts of levels.
How the internet is changing the world.
Coal v. oil v. natural gas v. nuclear v. renewables
How efficient is recycling?

I've always wanted to write a book and learn another language and I wonder why I have done neither.

I've become a little obsessed with open education. Linear algebra, calculus and statistics, logic, law, writing, philosophy. It's free from the best and brightest with the click of a mouse. How cool is that?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Who knows, sometimes a Happy Hour, sometimes a date, sometimes I go home and chill. Probably just like you.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have at least 14 pair of underwear so I can go 2 weeks without doing laundry if I want.

I talk dirty to my shower. I call it Lucy, and I'll get in there half asleep in the morning and I'll be "Oh, Lucy, that's hot! Yeah, right there, you know what I like... Don't stop, that feels so good"

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You can name all the Supreme Court justices. (Why do I find that sexy? ) Don't forget Bryer. He's almost invisible. It's kind of cheating if you don't know who nominated them or what side of the fence they're on.
I thought Thomas was a Reagan appointee until a date who read this let me know he was the first Bush's. I'm not as smart as I think!

You would like a man you don't know but might want to know to buy you a drink. (I'd buy you more than one. I'll let you buy your own if you'd rather. Heck, you can buy me one if you want.)

You like smart handsome interesting guys.

You can hang with a guy who tries to buy everything used. Mostly because there is plenty of stuff in the world. Getting really great stuff cheap is punk rock.

You want to make out.
