My self-summary
I would have to say the thing I am most passionate about is learning and experiencing new things. I am in the midst of a career change from being an system architect (engineer) working on things like the space program and telecommunications now going back to school to turn a hobby into a profession. I Fell in love with the elegance of the human design at the molecular and system level and well... one thing led to another and found myself in the middle of becoming a physician-scientist. I know its strange now at this stage in life... but thats how it worked out for me.

I have lived all over the US and came to Boston for school and love it here. I do enjoy traveling, nature, and just simply walking around the city on a summer day. I have traveled all across the US and many places over seas, mostly Europe so far.

Very few things ruffle my feathers and usually pretty easy going about things. Plus I am pretty open minded/non-judgemental kinda person so nothing really offends me either. So feel free to ask me anything.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I am in the middle of a dual degree program (MD-PhD). Its a 7 err umm 8 year program and have 3.5 years left till I am done. I have completed the first 2 years of med school and now 2.5 years of the research portion. After I complete my dissertation, which will should be in June '13 (Crossing my fingers), I will have go back to finish years 3 and 4 of med school. I like to be upfront about this. Feel free to ask me, since I know its not common.
I’m really good at
I am good at listening and looking at issues from all sides and different perspectives. In addition I am good at setting out personal goals and continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness. I am also good at finding new adventures and unique experiences.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I can be rather technical/geeky and quite serious about my work. However, underneath all that I can joke around be quite lighthearted about issues too. Really I can.... Really... ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
In general SciFi is my favorite genre for books and movies, but
like Action, Comedy, drama generally in that order.
Books: Alfred Bester (Demolished Man), Robert Heinlein (Moon is a
Harsh Mistress), Phillip K. Dick (Man in the High Castle), Nancy
Kress (Beggars in Spain), Connie Willis (Doomsday book), Orson
Scott Card (Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher
Columbus/Ender's Game) to name a few.

Movies: Cabin in the woods, Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Star Trek, Star Wars, Matrix, Terminator and some animes (Ghost in the Shell). Some comedy like 40 Year Old Virgin, Grosse Point Blank, Scott Pilgrim, and some horror films for a good scare. I find that the dramas of independents are much more interesting than what Hollywood ever does, so often trek to Kendall for a movie. Some of the long term favorite dramas include Shawshank Redemption, Casablanca, Secretary, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento, Good Will Hunting, and many others.

TV: Firefly (SHOULD still be on) and anything by Joss Whedon, Top Chef (my ONLY guilty pleasure of reality TV), True Blood, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Bored to Death, Dr. Who, American Horror Story, The Newsroom. I also Like comedy - The Daily Show, Family Guy, Futurama, and Simpsons.

I am a bit of a Foodie and love trying new restaurants. There
really isn't any food I wouldn't try, save for liver. My favorites
are Sushi, Indian, or simply just Pizza. Anything with Molasses... Ginger molasses cookies, Homemade Gingerbread (I can make it), and Gingersnap molasses ice cream from Toscanini's - YUMMM!!!!

Radio: NPR, PHC, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Radiolab

Travel - I have been quite fortunate to get to travel to Brazil,
Russia, and most of Western European countries. I have many more locales I really want to see. I love learning about ancient
cultures, so still wanna see Egypt, Greece, and Peru - Anything
with Ancient Ruins - SOON! I also have had a long-standing goal to get to Antarctica in this lifetime.
The six things I could never do without
1. Coffee
2. Working out (Runnng or Yoga mostly)
3. Phrenic Nerve - "3 4 5 keeps the diaphragm alive"
4. NPR junkie
5. Down time now and then
6. Internet/iphone (new addition)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How the Human body was engineered. To me medicine/research is one big reverse engineering project.

My new favorite quote:
‘A healthy body is the guest-chamber of the soul; a sick, its prison.’
Francis Bacon

Non-work related.....
Am a bit of a history buff, how the universe is structured, purpose of life... ya know yada yada... normal things ppl tend to contemplate about
On a typical Friday night I am
Go out to dinner with friends, sometimes a movie, or even just walking around the town.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I also have a spiritual side too that is continually evolving.
