My self-summary
I recently moved back to NYC after a two-year stint in DC. I love the layers and vibrancy here. I am working to reinvigorate my personal creative pursuits and push myself to the next level with relationships.

I walk the line between being a culturally savvy city girl and romping in the country. My humor can be a bit crass and I hope it stays that way. I strive to do no harm. While it's absolutely impossible to achieve it keeps me honest and critical.

I've spent time in the Middle East, and traveled in South and Central America, a few countries in Africa, the Caribbean and Europe. I love to travel and hope to do more of it over the coming years. I recently left the UN to work in corporate social responsibility. It's incredibly different. I am excited to see where it takes me.

I enjoy painting, dancing, cooking, design, art, live music, philosophy, long talks, the ocean, mountains, monkeys and to laugh. My grandfather ate everything with a knife. I come from humble beginnings and that humility has stuck with me. While confidence is cool, arrogance bores me. I am interested in dialogue versus monologues. Integrity is important to me.

I enjoy conversations that migrate between different subjects and fields. I am drawn to authenticity, creativity, kindness and curiosity. Generally, I get along well with men who are driven by more than money.

Over the past few years, I've spent time redefining what I want from a relationship. While I am interested in new friends, I hope to develop a meaningful intimate relationship. I am not rushing to have a family and I do want one.
What I’m doing with my life
Working to be as passionate about my personal life as I am about my work. Making more room in my life for me and the people I care about. Being creative and trying to make the tiny section of the world I inhabit better.
I’m really good at
Cooking, dancing and communicating.
The first things people usually notice about me
My "positive" energy. Friends often describe me as "sexy" and "smart."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read the NYT and a variety of online news sites and magazines. I love creative non-fiction. Arundati Roy's, God of Small Things, is a favorite. I was moved by Nelson Mandela's autobiography. I am trying to get into novels more.

I like raunchy Californication, Masters of Sex, documentaries and Gray's Anatomy.

I love jazz, world beat, funk, classical and some classic rock and roll. I am terrible with the names of bands - I hope to get better at this soon.

I love to experiment with cooking and enjoy hosting dinner parties.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee
Adventure
Love
Dancing
Friends
Sex
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to live a meaningful life and not take it for granted. The limitations of the human brain, empathy, writing, love, my new cat, my niece, traveling, being better with my money, yoga and Buddhism, sex, how fast time goes - memory. The political landscape and what leadership and service mean today. The state of our world and interior design.
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinks, dancing, movies, a show or home relaxing...an occasional road trip to the woods. Traveling.
