Enjoying two years in LA after a long stint in NYC. I love movies, winetasting, being outside, meeting new people, running/hiking, conversation, telling stories and hearing, (especially funny ones). Like fun debate, playing devil's advocate, and looking for the silver lining.

I like sarcasm as long as it isn't mired in cynicism - I'm a realistic optimist.

I run a movie/tv publication. It's a cool day job and I'm a big advocate of work to live, not the other way around. I also write screenplays and have made short films which have screened at festivals.

Finding humor in serious situations.

Lately I've really been into old Hollywood pre-code comedies and movies by Ernest Lubitsch.

Wings of Desire, Annie Hall, Harold and Maude, Bringing Up Baby, My Life To Live, Barton Fink, Sweet Smell of Success, Decalogue, Fassbinder, Mike Leigh, Miranda July, Hal Ashby, North by Northwest, Sabrina, Dardenne Brothers, Mike Leigh, Notorious, The GodFather I & II, Up, Shoot The Piano Player. Also like 70's Hollywood and French New Wave.

Filmmakers - Hal Ashby, Altman, Bergman, Lynch, Scorcese, Coen Brothers, Dardenne Brothers, all the masters. And Wong Kar Wai, Kubrick, Billy Wilder, Hitchcock, etc.

I could go on and on here. I love indie and foreign film but also like smart (or clever) Hollywood films.

TV -

Game of Thrones, Twin Peaks, The Wire, Louie, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Decalogue, Scenes from A Marriage, Party Down, Louis, etc.

Music -
