My self-summary
Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I've ever known. ~ Chuck Palahniuk, Invisible Monsters

I'm a caring person. Friends have described me as: nice, happy, easy-going, patient, kind, and funny. I think I have a good sense of humor, pretty thick skin, and the ability to find the best of nearly any situation.

I love the outdoors in the summer and fall, but I'm not a fan of snow. I like board and card games, not into the video game culture, though I play when I'm visiting friends for Wii or Rock Band, or if there's absolutely nothing else to do. I love to create with words or through art. I find most stand-up comedy to be hilarious. I prefer horror and action movies the most, though there are a few dramatic films I've deeply enjoyed.

If you need to understand my sense of humor, or one of my biggest insecurities, check this out (about 4 minutes and always makes me chuckle):
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching at-risk youth at a treatment facility.

Spending more time at the gym.

Reading, writing, and drawing.

And it's the summer time now, so I'm going to focus more on fishing, camping, and hiking.
I’m really good at
After thirty-something years on this planet, I'm not really sure what I am good at. I just know what I like to do, so here's that list: card games, board games, fishing, writing, telling jokes, listening, being patient, and staying calm.
The first things people usually notice about me
How my eyes disappear when I smile, that I *did* just tell *that* joke in public, or that nothing seems to ruffle my feathers too much.

I know where my towel is.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Iron Man 1, 2 & 3, The Avengers, 28 Days Later, Pan's Labyrinth, Dumb & Dumber, The Quest for the Holy Grail.

Books: Shakespeare, Frost, Keats, Hemmingway, George R.R. Martin, Stephen King, Benjamin Hoff, Lau Tzu, Sun Tzu.

Shows: Game of Thrones, NFL Football, The Simpsons, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, 30 Rock, Big Bang Theory, Archer.

Music: Korn, 3 Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Willie Nelson, John Michael Montgomery, Lady Antebellum.

Food: Oriental, Italian, American. Sushi, seafood... I like spices and meat, and mixing them together to be devoured with chopsticks and sake is fantastic!
The six things I could never do without
After a disastrous roommate situation, I've had to cut out a lot of things. This is the list that remains:

* Quiet time
* Gym membership
* Something to laugh about
* My family
* The good friends
* My imagination
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What crimes everyone is looking for a partner for.

How music can be the lifeblood of so many people.

Where people with children existed before those kids were born (because my kid/kids are their life).

If I should give up on dating and just go live off the grid as a fisherman/novelist.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still look forward to new episodes of The Simpsons.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 33–39
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You understand that I'm not here for a friends with benefits arrangement. I'm not looking to date just so I don't have to be bored at home. I'm not looking to be any rung on a polyamory ladder.

I'm here to find an actual relationship, be it friendship, dating, or long-term romance. And until we meet in person, I don't know which of the three it would be.
