My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I've ever known. ~ Chuck Palahniuk, Invisible Monsters

I'm a caring person. Friends have described me as: nice, happy, easy-going, patient, kind, and funny. I think I have a good sense of humor, pretty thick skin, and the ability to find the best of nearly any situation.

I love the outdoors in the summer and fall, but I'm not a fan of snow. I like board and card games. I love to create with words or through art. I find most stand-up comedy to be hilarious. I prefer horror and action movies the most, though there are a few dramatic films I've deeply enjoyed.

If you would like to understand my sense of humor, or one of my biggest insecurities, check this out (about 4 minutes and always makes me chuckle):
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting into better shape, both physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Working as a special ed teacher at a treatment facility for at-risk youth. Yep, I work with the ones that "regular" schools can't handle, and I get most of them to enjoy Shakespeare. (I keep telling myself that, anyway!)

Trying to get in more time for the things I love; fishing, camping, hiking, writing, drawing and laughing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
After thirty-something years on this planet, I'm not really sure what I am good at. I just know what I like to do, so here's that list: card games, board games, fishing, writing, telling jokes, listening, being patient, and staying calm.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Recently, it was how nice I am. Sometimes it's that I'm cracking jokes at a crowded table. Often, it's that my eyes disappear when I laugh. Maybe that I'm not very tall? Or that I'm lifting something that's way heavier than you'd expect from a guy my size. I suppose this all depends on where we meet.

Food: Oriental, Italian, American. Sushi, seafood... I like spices and meat, and mixing them together to be devoured with chopsticks and sake is fantastic!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
After a disastrous roommate situation, I've had to cut out a lot of things. This is the list that remains:

* Quiet time
* Gym membership
* Something to laugh about
* My family
* The good friends
* My imagination
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
*The book, poem, or short story I should be writing* *Something I'd like to draw* *What I'll be doing on my next day off* *About a movie I'd like to see, or watch again* *Friends and/or family* *How to win the lottery* *Lesson plans*
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Not at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still look forward to new episodes of The Simpsons.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You understand that I'm not here for a friends with benefits arrangement. I'm not looking to date just so I don't have to be bored at home. I'm not looking to be any rung on a polyamory ladder.

I'm here to find an actual relationship, be it friendship, dating, or long-term romance. And until we meet in person, I don't know which of the three it would be.

None of us are perfect. We all have bad days, or bad weeks. Emotions are a real thing, and sometimes they take over and make the brain not work so well. Past relationships leave scars sometimes; I get it, I'm not immune, and I live in the real world. I do my best to be a responsible adult, and I work every day to make those around me happy, if I can. I've fought my battles, slayed some demons, and have a couple of skeletons locked in my own closet; I'm even terrified of a very harmless thing! Since we do all have some issues, don't be shy or feel too damaged... nobody is really normal, let's see if your weirdness and mine sync up in a compatible manner.
