My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I believe in open, honest, egalitarian relationships.

I believe no matter how close two people become, they are always individuals.

I believe every relationship requires equal amounts of honesty and respect on the part of both individuals or the relationship will eventually fail.

I believe no amount of common interests will overcome differences in life philosophies.

I believe in order to form a successful lifetime partnership, two people must be heading in roughly the same direction at roughly the same pace.

I believe 90% of the people who read the above statements and agree with them will agree with them in theory and not practice.

I am a person who constantly chooses my values and consciously lives them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a constant work in progress. I don't believe in stagnation. I set goals for myself and I achieve them. I am constantly working toward becoming a better version of myself. Consequently, I'm the best me I can be every day.

Every day, I do the same thing with my life as I did the day before...I live it. Everyone says they want to live their life to the fullest, I actually work to do so. This doesn't mean that I don't have a routine, like a job, etc. but it does mean I will spontaneously blow off work to spend time with friends who are visiting from out of town or who have the day off when I don't. I've only got the one life...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm best at conversation. I love to talk and I love to listen. I frequently hear the phrase, "I can't believe I just told you that, I've never told anyone that."

I also have a long memory and am a highly intuitive person. When I get to know you, I *know* you. Some folks like that, some are scared by it. Which are you?

Also, because it seems to be a theme on these world wide interwebs, allow me to disclaim: I do *not* Google folks. I will know nothing about you prior to meeting you other than what you've told me. If we know folks in common, I will not ask them about you. For me, getting to know people is like watching a movie, I want to know as little as possible before I experience it first-hand.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I get a lot of comments on my smile. People frequently stop me in public to tell me how beautiful my smile is...because I have dimples?

**edit, I figured the smile thing out. When I'm happy, I radiate it so much that others can't help but be drawn into it. I've been told many times by complete strangers, "I was having a bad day until I saw you smiling, I just can't be upset when you're so happy." **

Personality-wise: I'm a pretty positive and upbeat person. I don't like looking at the negative side of things because I feel it's a waste of my energy, which could be put to better use enjoying life. Again, I only have the one.

Folks also tend to notice that I'm a very goal-oriented and driven person, just not about the typical things...achieving my dreams? Yes. Are my dreams anything to do with making a gazillion dollars a year or owning a house? No.

I like to be entertained. I'm not a critic, I prefer to enjoy most things for what they are. There are a few things I mostly avoid, but even then there are exceptions.

I'd rather watch a bad action flick than a good romance.

Romance movies leave me yelling at the screen, "Just tell him/her how you feel! Quit being such a moron!!"

And then to my compatriots: "If people would just learn to fucking communicate..."

I don't like romance novels on the whole, but I've been caught reading historical romance and sci-fi/fantasy romance as well. On my bookcase is the complete Discworld collection, several Daniel Quinn's, Stephen King (mostly only short story collections, he's a little too verbose in his novels for my taste), Jeff Deaver, Kathy Reichs (though I haven't actually read any yet), Neil Gaiman, Ayn Rand, and a smattering of non-fiction in no particular category, just whatever interested me at the time.

I'm also not a huge fan of country music, but I own a Shania Twain album. Contained in my most oft listened to playlist is Queen, Enya, Apocalyptica, Vampire Weekend, Mozart, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, several songs from the "Once More with Feeling" soundtrack, Michael Franti, P!nk, Dayplayer, and many others. I hope this gives a good idea of my broad interests.

In television, I've found I'm drawn to shows which feature a highly intelligent lead character; think Big Bang Theory, Bones, Doctor Who, Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I don't have cable and I don't follow shows on the internet, though, just DVDs and Netflix.

Walking Dead and Game of Thrones fill my drama needs.

Weeds and Dexter also make me laugh like crazy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Seriously, though, I think a lot. I spend my days in thought. When I'm too tired to focus on the task at hand, I'm just thinking.

My preference though, is to think about my life and what I'm doing with it. I like to keep myself on target for ultimate enjoyment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either out with friends or at home resting up for the rest of the weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm willing to admit pretty much anything.

I mentioned up above that I'm honest to a fault and I'm not kidding about that one.

I've learned to be a little evasive on some questions, but if I think you can handle the truth, I'll tell it.

The fastest way to earn my respect and admiration is to both be a truth teller and be able to hear the truth. If you're not firmly rooted in reality, I'm not interested.

The mood strikes you. Be sure to ask me a question if you want a reply...I love to answer questions. Especially when I have to think on the answer.

If you're a game player, move along. I don't like games. When you message me, I'll message back that instant if my phone is in my hand. I don't play this wait 7 minutes, 7 hours, or 7 days thing. I'm upfront and honest and I expect you to be. I've got no time for liars or those who aren't sure what they want in life.
