My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! I'm Jimmy. I'm from Savannah, GA, went to college at NYU, and I live and work in Hollywood, CA.

I read a lot. I write a lot. I watch too much TV and don't exercise enough, but I can still probably lift you up over my head. Wanna see??

I have a cat, who is cool. I'm the oldest of three and I love my parents, who I talk to weekly. They're pretty cool too, but, you know, in their own uncool kind of way.

I'm one of those new-fangled old souls, chaotic good at heart, searching for genuine wisdom but doing the best I can with the handful of things I've figured out so far. Nick Miller and Louie CK would understand.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By day, I'm a department coordinator at a company that designs movie posters, and I do some copywriting on the side. You know that synopsis on the back of your DVD package? I probably wrote that, and I probably didn't even see the movie.

By night, I'm a writer. I write because I love breaking down the chaos of the world into its basic elements and reconstructing the pieces into resonant, engaging, compelling narratives, hopefully the kinds that inspire and make people laugh while remaining grounded in reality and authentic to the experience. At the moment, no one pays me to do that, but I'll be damned if they're not going to someday.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
writing songs and singing and playing guitar, but just for fun and profit.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"You have a beard now!" / "You don't have a beard now!" Currently, I'm clean-shaven.*

*Funnily enough, after a couple of days of not shaving, I'm back to having a beard. I know you didn't come here for the unabridged history of my facial hair, but there ya go. If you're beginning to fall for me, you should probably get used to this cycle.

The touch of gray in my hair, which people always try to pull out (almost always unprovoked).

My watch and my glasses get lots of compliments too, so I guess I was a savvy shopper that one time I went shopping.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. A physical outlet
2. A creative outlet
3. An electrical outlet
4. A companion
5. A sense of humor
6. Running water/indoor plumbing/TP
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...how to be within and without.

...personal and cultural/generational value systems, how they're formed and how they evolve.

...natural mash-ups and song sound-alikes (Baa Baa Black Sheep/Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, etc.).

...life, the universe, and everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
working, running home to feed the cat, then either hitting a concert or comedy show, trying out a new board game with pals, firing up Netflix Instant/Amazon Prime/HBO Go, or grabbing a tall glass of water and writing the good goddamn out of a script.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
420 best-friendly, but I don't drink much these days.

I really enjoy singing this song to my cat, largely inspired by the Three 6 Mafia song I absorbed unintentionally through the zeitgeist. It's one we all know, so please feel free to sing along:

Butts and titties,
Butt butts and titties,
Butts and titties,
Butt butts and titties,
Titties and butts and butts and titties
Titty titty butt butt titty butt titty.

Also, to the tune of Tears for Fears' seminal chart-topping classic, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World":

Every kitty is a kitty cat.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

...you like to play Magic and make magic. Although I guess Hearthstone is more where it's at lately.

...you're not looking to jump into a relationship, but wouldn't balk at the notion if the right guy came along (and by "relationship," I mean airport runs and couples' game nights and extended TV binges in unfashionable sweatwear).

...you're Abbi Jacobson from Broad City and you want to go to BB&B (their coupons NEVER expire).
