My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I treat cities like giant scavenger hunts, and I'm always astonished by the myriad ways in which people create beauty and make me laugh or smile. I also love hiking national parks and want to learn to scuba dive.

I love to cook, but I can go months without making the same dish twice because I'd rather try something new. I'll probably steal bites from your plate at restaurants.

I'm a proud nerd. I collect math jokes. I'm likely to spew out facts about insect mating rituals, but you don't want me on your trivia team because I know nothing about pop culture. I revel in language, love board games (especially those that play in words), and will surely kick your butt on Words With Friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a domestic violence lawyer. In my free time I study American Sign Language.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Word games and puzzles, cooking and baking, getting lost using trail maps.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My big ol' smile or my loud laugh.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Time Traveler's Wife, Everything Is Illuminated, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Middlesex, Gut Symmetries, the Harry Potter series, anything by Kurt Vonnegut, The Little Prince, anything by Dr Suess. (I have a deep appreciation for children's literature.) I love to read, but law school makes it hard to find time for joy-reading.

Movies: I see astonishingly few movies. Most people who are getting to know me decide they need to make me a list of movies I must see so that I can 1)be truly human and 2) carry on a pop-culturally literate conversation. No one has ever actually made that list. If given a choice, I prefer live theater to movies any day.

TV Shows: The West Wing, 30 Rock, Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, X-files, Criminal Minds, Planet Earth.

Music: Mostly folk.

Food: I love fruit of all kinds and in all contexts. I munch on fruit all the time and love to find ways of including it in savory dishes. I love veggies, too, and have been known to convert those who think they dislike veggies into people who ask for second helpings of Brussels sprouts. I have a terrible/terrific sweet tooth and am a sucker for cookies. I love spices, not just for heat but for depth of flavor. I love to try out new dishes, new cuisines, and new recipes. When I was in Africa, I ate both mopani worms and giraffe meat. In short, I love food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Always know where your towel is.

Nah, I'm certainly happy I have the following in my life: my dog, the change of seasons, spices, farmers markets, comfy blankets, and live theater.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Linguistics, access to justice, gender politics in and outside the home, what I'm making for dinner, what interesting events I can watch/attend/participate in, and whether I'll ever get a job I like as much as the one I left to go to law school.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Testing out a new recipe. Want to be my guinea pig?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I often still sleep with a teddybear from childhood.
