My Self-Summary

Some people describe me as quiet and reserved - these people do not know me very well. I laugh frequently and LOUDLY. I spend a lot of time "in my head," but I've gotten pretty good at pretending to be an extrovert. If music is playing, I am probably dancing or humming along to it. I have a little bit of a rebellious streak, but I don't like confrontation or conflict. I am very idealistic, and as a result people tend to think I am way more naive than I actually am. I am slowly but surely figuring out what I want to do with my life, and I am excited to see what the future has in store...

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently a high school teacher, and I am going back to graduate school for my M.S.W. Ultimately I hope to become a therapist, but I am also open to other career opportunities that may present themselves in the future. I love to learn and I have very eclectic interests, so finding my professional "heartpath" has been a little difficult. I think I could enjoy any job that allows me to work with people in a meaningful way. In my spare time I enjoy taking acting classes and performing in local theatrical productions.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I do not know what I would do without music. Some of my favorites are: Pearl Jam, Swell Season, Spoon, Coldplay, Otis Redding, Nirvana, STP, DMB, Aretha Franklin, The Doors, Damien Rice, and everything on the Garden State soundtrack.
