I am progressive, engaging, and funners.

My Self-Summary

I am a new Austinite and a previous DCist and San Antoniona. It's been a good move but I am always happy to meet new people. I like dead-pan humor, hiking, and weekend getaways. I am decently nerdy and like anything artsy. I love people who make me think long and hard and I enjoy being there for those whom I care deeply about.

What I’m doing with my life

I just finished my BA in Economics and International Affairs. I'm working right now and trying to figure out the next couple years ahead.

I’m really good at

collecting weird stuffed animals.

The first things people usually notice about me

my height! que amazona!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I think 'favorite books' is too narrow of a question when it comes to reading. Most of my favorite reading is done on the internet: Jstor, blogs, the news, and guilty pleasures like afterellen.com. I like non-fiction mostly, but still really enjoy some Neruda, Pirsig, Hesse, and Atwood. I still truly enjoy children's books and read a few a week. Also, Lisa Diamond has done some incredible research on sexual fluidity and I would suggest any queer female read her latest book.

When people critique a film for being too slow that's a good cue for me to watch it. Movies I like to watch at least once a year are Lost in Translation, Amelie, Rushmore, Machuca, Ratatouille, and Munchhausen.

My favorite music genres are electronica, indie-rock, alt-country, twee-pop, and shoegaze. M. Ward, Bjork, Gogol Bordello, The Polyphonic Spree, Girl Talk, and Yann Tiersen are what it's all about.

I am a foodie and vegetarian. Long-term standbys include bananas, tomatoes, carrots, a killer sandwich or p-cakes. I really enjoy going out to try new restaurants. I like spicy food; Thai, Indian, Burmese, and Mexican are some of my favorites.

The six things I could never do without

Outside of the obvious, the little things that make my day superb are music, kit-cats, coffee, some alone time, 68 dgs F, and dance parties.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

People walking on the street. Where they're going, who they are, what they're up to. I tend to narrate the world in my head as I move through it. These are just silly things, but I do consider myself a deep thinker. I don't brood, I just care about community.

On a typical Friday night I am

After living in San Antonio for 4 years I've become quite creative and have learned how to make my own fun on a Friday night. I will always be down for a concert, a dive or queer bar, playing pool, going dancing, seeing a play, or board gamin it up.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

This isn't private it's just a silly factoid.

I can touch my nose with my tongue.

You should message me if

you've got something interesting to say or think my typical Friday night would be more fun if you made a guest appearance.
