I like laughing, relaxing, watching some shows/movies, people watching, making jewelry when I have the time to spend on it, camping and generally being outdoors (always my escape growing up).

I am living in Oakland and I love it. The only thing missing is a bike, because then I would truly be able to enjoy this city. There is so much to do and see here; from a simple walk around lake Merritt or down Piedmont ave, to a trip to the zoo. I have been working as a driving instructor in the area, but i continue to look for other work since the hours are few and far between. It's nice that I pick my availability, but even then, I don't always know if that schedule will be filled. Sometimes I substitute teach at a preschool in Oakland, but that usually ends up being just once a month, if that. Someday, hopefully in the next few years, I would really like to move to the Portland area. My oldest sister lived there for a few years, so i got to visit a couple of times, and i just loved it so much. it's always green, weird, and i really like how it incorporates the rivers into the city. so, i guess work (and maybe school) and portland are kind of the key components to my five year plan at the moment.

random trivia and keeping calm. I'm also good at putting my friends in a good mood when they are feeling down in the dumps.

that im totally shy at first, but once they get past that, they realize that im really sarcastic and just like a clever back and forth between people.

Books: Youth in Revolt, C. D. Payne. i've been really into the Hunger Games trilogy lately (just like the rest of america, i know). i also recently read "survivor" by Chuck Palahniuk, and it was crazy, so i have been trying to read some other books of his. At this moment I am re-reading The Great Gatsby. I always liked it, but I haven't read it since high school. Recently I've been trying to re-read books that I read in high school, or that other people may have read (Lord of the Flies), since I don't feel I fully species them when I was younger.

Movies: Star Wars Original Trilogy especially The Empire Strikes Back, Dazed and Confused, Jurassic Park (just soooo entertaining), Anchorman, Mean Girls, Garden State, Life as a House, The Never Ending Story, The Last Unicorn, the Devil Wears Prada, Empire Records, and the Hangover.

TV Shows: modern family, The Soup, Mad Men, United States of Tara, Family Guy, 30 Rock, The Office, Parenthood, the Mindy Project, How I Met Your Mother, Party Down, the Walking Dead, Happy Endings, Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, Girls, and a few "horrible" reality shows

Music: The Strokes, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Sarah McLachlan (long time fan), Adele, Death Cab for Cutie, and a whoooooole lot of other bits from various artists/albums (311-The Roots-Les Miserables).

this isn't really so much private, as it is a random fact about me, but my absolute favorite smell in the world is smoke, like campfire type smoke. most people hate that when they go home after camping all of their stuff smells like smoke, but i love it so much!
