I am clever, sincere, and eccentric.

My Self-Summary

I'm a student at the University of Colorado Boulder studying English and Philosophy, hoping to get my teaching licensure in secondary english education.

I have eclectic tastes in art and pop culture ranging from musicals and poetry to Led Zeppelin and politics.

I love writing, particularly poetry, and reading. I am a pretty independent person, but I always enjoy having a nice conversation with someone over coffee (or actually tea...I don't like coffee), as well as normal activities like watching movies, hiking, partying, etc.

I work as a Lifeguard Instructor at the YMCA and a lifeguard manager for the City of Boulder. I don't make a lot, but I have no other real job skills and I like it well enough.

I am very picky about things in my life (especially food) and boys are no exception, which has led to a lot of frustration for me. I am most attracted to short, pasty-white, skater-type boys with some sense of humor and some ability to be intellectual. A lack of one or more of these qualities is not a deal-breaker for me, but they'll help you out. :)

What I’m doing with my life

I'm getting my bachelor's degree and teaching certificate at CU. After that, who knows?

I’m really good at

writing (particularly poetry), swimming, arguing without using logical fallacies, origami, other random things I can't think of (I must be good at something, right?)...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Picture of Dorian Grey, Walden, Candide, Beloved, Fahrenheit 451, The Stranger, The Communist Manifesto, Stephen King novels, Jane Eyre, Plato's Dialogues, The Hours, poetry

Movies: American Beauty, Monty Python films, Magnolia, The Wall, Donnie Darko, Dogma, Tim Burton Films, The Shining, Harold and Maude, Vanilla Sky, Little Miss Sunshine, Billy Elliot, Carrie, Bowling for Columbine, Kevin Smith films, foreign films

Music: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Heart, Blink 182, Fleetwood Mac, classic rock, hard rock, soft rock, prog rock, pop rock, punk rock, pop punk, alt. rock, rock operas, and anything that's a concept album or a double album.

Food:

Chipotle
Spongebob-shaped macaroni and cheese
Italian food
Mexican food

The six things I could never do without

books, my computer, Chiptole, memories, words, and music.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Wishes, dreams, and fantasies that will never come true. Also, about theories of justice and the worries of modern society.

On a typical Friday night I am

Working, studying, or partying, but not all at the same time.

You should message me if

you aren't a creeper.
