Now, I’m a university professor. I used to be print journalist. I used to be a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer and I lived in a cinder-block hut at the edge of the rainforest in Belize. I used to be a journalism teacher in Singapore. I’ve backpack-trekked through Asia, Central America and Mexico. (My backpack is ready for more.)
My age-number is misleading. I’m far, far younger in spirit and mind. I stay that way by hanging out with lots of 20-somethings during my work week. (My students.) I’m raising a 12-year-old too. He’s my son, my one and only.
