I am determined, flirtatious, and quirky.
My Self-Summary
My name's Bri! I live in Melbourne and spend most of my time being
a goofy, music-and-books obsessive kind of dork. Everything
fascinates me, including you. Yes, you.
Really!
What I’m doing with my life
Well, some people work in general admin roles. Me, on the other
hand, somehow I arrived in a therapy centre that deals with
students, clients, and very slightly deranged staff. All of whom
need administration to keep them functioning. It's kind of awesome;
I can actually brighten people's days, just by smiling at them and
remembering their therapist's name. It makes me happy inside.
In my spare time, I am a complete nerd who loves being with family
and friends, dorking around on the computer, reading worrying
numbers of books, and investigating new recipes which people then
have to taste-test with me. Dessert is frequently involved.
I’m really good at
Making people smile. Being a bit of a goofball is good for that.
Creating things - writing, cooking, performing, playing, dreaming.
Seeing something all the way through. I'm verrrry determined and
I'll fight to the end for things I believe in. Making my cat purr
and the people around me roll their eyes and try to smack me as I
bounce past.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not very good at keeping still, unless I'm snuggled up and
comfortable. I'm quiet - until I get to know people, and then good
luck making me stop talking and joking and trying to make everyone
laugh. My accent is kind of weird, thanks to English and American
schools, performance training, and a tendency to pick up other
people's speech habits. Oh yeah - the glasses. No, I'm not good at
being a sexy librarian or sexy teacher. Yes, I have tried. But I
could probably make you giggle with my impression.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books! Anything by
Terry Pratchett;
Wicked, by Gregory Maguire;
Isaac Asimov's short and longer stories; the Phryne Fisher series
by Kerry Greenwood.
It's not exactly a movie, but
Mythbusters...I am a sucker for
useless information, and Mythbusters is full of it. I also love
Imagine Me
And You and
Death At A Funeral.
Music! A lot of musicals:
Wicked, Rent, Cats,
The Witches of
Eastwick, Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Into The
Woods. I love musicals with a passion.
Vienna Teng. Disney music!
Idina Menzel.
Food! ...oh, most things. But especially
cookies and, yes, well, it has to be
chocolate
doesn't it?
The six things I could never do without
Life would not be worthwhile without my family, my friends, my
pets, a good
book (or
two or three or...), music, and cookies.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything and everything. Finding out how Latin names of plant and
animal species are constructed; how real things could have turned
into old legends; what would happen if...; how words can sound
pretty similar in different languages; whether dirt cake actually
looks like the name implies (it does); how I can write a drabble
for my favourite characters; what a name translates to in different
languages; who came up with the idea of CDs, and how they thought
of it...
...anything. Everything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Some day, years from now, I am going to have children. If you've
decided you're definitely not going to...you'll be wasting your
time trying to hook up with me.
But I'd still love to find out whether we'd make awesome friends!
And whether you can put up with me suddenly coming out with useless
bits of information.
...yes, that counts as a private thing.
You should message me if
You feel like someone to talk to, or you want to be silly and crazy
with me! Really, as long as you don't resort to chatspeak, you'll
almost definitely get a response.
