My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a kindergarten teacher pursuing a Master's in teaching English as a second language. I have dedicated the majority of 2013 to eating plants and animals and working out. I am somewhere between a couch potato and a gym rat. This is my second year in Chicago Gay Men's Chorus. I am an avid traveler. Many places visited (recently London, Alaska and Seattle) and many more to go (South America, San Francisco and Australia to name a few). I am single and oh-so-ready to mingle!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Lots of teaching and school but always available for weekend playtime. It has been an incredibly rewarding challenge teaching 25 5-year olds. I parallel myself getting through the first 40 days of kindergarten to Moses wandering through the desert for 40 years. He made it through, right?!

Life in Chicago is good. This is my second year living in Avondale with favorite shroommate, Margaret. She's one of many amazing "hags" in my life. I continue to explore the city to keep face, dance embarrassingly at gay bars, find an occasional overpriced restaurant to try and get outdoors to breathe delicious "car air" whenever possible. I may not live in Chicago forever, but OMG what a great place to be until I figure out my next move!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My Starbucks iced coffee cup in hand, my lack of Starbucks cups in hand, my brightly colored pants, interestingly designed shirts and my expensive smile (just ask mom and dad). Also, Ke$ha tells me she likes my beard.

My real answer is that people usually notice my genuine personality, charm and oddball sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
David Sedaris (seeing him in November!), Onward (the Starbucks book, duh), The Primal Blueprint (why I lost 45 pounds), The Paleo Diet (further reassurance), Fast Food Nation (death to the golden arches), The Great Gatsby (because I can pretend to be a lit snob), To Kill A Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, 1984, The Beatles Anthology (because I needed to know everything about my all-time favorite band) and the Harry Potter series (because I'll always be a preteen at heart).

The Wizard of Oz, Titanic, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, American Beauty, Argo, Spider-Man 1-2, Catch Me If You Can, Crash, Finding Nemo, Forrest Gump, Grease, A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Julie & Julia, Juno, Lincoln, Milk, Norma Rae, One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest, Pulp Fiction, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Star Wars: Episodes III-VI, Terminator 2, Toy Story

Breaking Bad, Glee, Six Feet Under, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, Family Guy, Big Brother, always and forever The Simpsons, Home Improvement and The Wonder Years

The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady GaGa, Green Day, Missy Elliott, Kelly Clarkson, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Maroon 5, Icona Pop, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer, 'Glee', Sheryl Crow, B-52's

I love to cook more than ever. Favorites include grass-fed rib eyes, ribs, bacon, squid, scallops, a big ass salad that can have any array of items in it, random avocado, berries, kale chips, the list goes on.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Health
2. Red wine (I deleted "Loved ones" for it)
3. Travel
4. That pesky, yet addicting iPhone
5. Music (loving iTunes Radio lately!)
6. Starbucks iced coffee (with 2 pumps of pumpkin added in the fall)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Myself! What's the next chapter? Is this the right job? Should I move? I feel I am at a turning point in life, and appreciate that I can problem solve and brainstorm independently, with friends or family. It seems things are going well now, but nothing is certain, and I intend to fully grow into the person I am meant to become! While strong on my own, I would love to share in something special with someone someday. Alliteration station!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I have been more likely to stay in Fridays with a close friend, movie and bottle of cabernet. Saturdays are my night to go out and get rowdy. Boystown, Lincoln Park, Logan; wherever good people gather, I'm there. Let the beat rock!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Just now I was sitting on the can with a glass of Cabernet in hand.

I get overly enthusiastic to burn season-themed Yankee Candles.

At Sidetracks I was once asked to leave for being "over served."

I hate 9s and numbers where the ones place is occupied by a 9.
