I totally and completely suck at filling out these "About Me" sections ... But I'm told that without something in this particular spot I appear to be a 'non-entity'.

So be it.

I'm told (by my super sexy hot fiance/partner/co-conspirator wife littlesebastien) that I am now officially middle-aged, but I still consider myself as being young. Yep. I still think of myself as being 26 or so. I'm a classic underachiever who is happier trying to figure out how to be a better and more complete human than trying to achieve material success, though I'm finding that attitude is becoming an impediment as I grow older. In many ways, I look at my life as being one continuous story of a person on a spiritual path, though much of it doesn't seem very spiritual or look much like a path. I've been some places, I've seen and done some things, and I've met some people. Most of that I don't regret, and the few things that I do regret I try to spend as little time moping about as possible: I just figure that if I've learned my lesson then it's a waste of energy to dwell on those things.

Spiritually I self-identify as a Thelemite, which is rather funny seeing that I tend not to really like many people who also identify that way. My experience is that many of them use Thelema as an excuse for all sorts of rude, inconsiderate, and often anti-social behavior (much like the X-tians they decry).

In relationships, I identify as a top, as 'somewhat flexible in my orientation', and as polyamorous. My girlie and I, however, aren't looking for big complicated webs of inter-relationships that often plague people in the poly lifestyle, which generally means we keep to ourselves most of the time. We're open to meeting and playing with new people, but not really looking for them too actively, if you get my drift.

Other than that, I find that many things in my life are in a near constant state of fluctuation. I tend to have thoughts about things rather than beliefs, which means I'm open to looking at them in new ways from time to time. This can be a little disorienting if you're one of those people who really likes to nail down who a person is and what they're about, I guess.

I'm still really trying to figure that out. Part of constantly being in flux, personally and professionally, is often that you're constantly redefining and re-evaluating your relationship to things, people, goals, destinations, etc.

On a more mundane level, I'm currently exploring parts of myself that I've been keeping on the dark end of the back shelf for the last few years, trying to self-liberate a bit from self-imposed restrictions, trying to build my side business, and planning a wedding with littlesebastien.

Also, I currently pay the bills by digging (and filling in) graves.

...Getting over it.

Seriously, I really tend not to stay angry or upset for very long and I don't hold grudges. That being said, I'll admit that there are a few people who I've learned to exclude from my life, not because I hold any ill will toward them but because they're just "not my sort of people".

I'm tall. And devastatingly handsome. Oh, and charming.

Okay, I'm tall. Not crazy tall, but ... y'know ... tall-ish.

Books : How 'bout we call this one "authors" instead? Paul Bowles, Robert Heinlein, David Foster Wallace, A. Crowley, Robert Anton Wilson, Tolkien, Frank Herbert, Milan Kundera, and Tom Robbins are among my favorites.

Movies : The Thin Red Line is, I think, an underrated masterpiece that definitely goes near the top of my list. Beyond that I've liked most movies made by P. T. Anderson, Kevin Smith, Richard Linklater, David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky, Terry Gilliam, and Quentin Tarantino ... aside from that, there's What the Bleep Do We Know, The Usual Suspects, MindWalk, Closetland, Memento, the films of Monty Python, Harold and Maude, and most movies done by Tim Burton ... I could probably go on and on and on and on, but I'm trying to be concise.

Music : TOOL ... first and foremost. I've seen them live 8 times since '94.

I find this question a little silly. The only things I really require are food, shelter, and warmth, and I've actually been without those at times in my life as well.

But in the spirit of the thing, in no specific order...
1. My computer. Seriously, my lifeline to the world outside my head.
2. My girlie, who keeps me rooted in the real world, reminds me what's important, and more than occasionally challenges my stance on things I may not have thought all the way through.
3. Coffee. I spent 15 years in the gourmet coffee industry; that pretty much makes me a lifetime addict by default.
4. Music. Music is my guru, more than any person or book ever could be.
5. Little Elvis.
6. My iPod Touch. A new addition to the 'how-did-I-ever-live-without-it' list, this one ties into #1 above...

Bullshit. I tend to daydream more than I let on about stupid things that really bear no impact on my life at all.

Beyond that, I tend to spend a lot of time thinking about how I can make things better in my life or be better in my life. This applies to everything from relationships and career right on down to arranging my workspace.

Watching TV or a movie at home, trying desperately not to fall asleep before it's over.

Either that I tend to carry a short length of rope with me most of the time or that I've probably already imagined what you look like in various stages of undress. It's hard to decide...

... you're an honest, intelligent, open-minded, spiritual person who is interested in evolving yourself, isn't necessarily afraid to confront uncomfortable aspects of yourself or your past, and who occasionally tries to make the world a better place in your own small way for no reason other than possibly having a better world to re-incarnate into.

On the other hand, you should not message me if social currency is a deciding factor in your friendships, if you have an image or a reputation to build or protect, if your actions are constantly at odds with your professed ideals, or if you have an agenda that includes converting me to some aspect of your belief system.
