But they thought my essay was too short, so I guess I have to say more.
Okae.
I'm a secret spy fish. Pirate secret spy fish. I drew a boat once. And I have an online comic about pirates. Which may or may not be about fish pirates. ... okae, it's not.
...this is harder than I thought.
I majored in art. Started in Metal-smithing, but finished in Fibers (aka weaving). Minored in Japanese.
I was a boyscout camp leader for a few summers in college. If girls could get merit badges- I would have them all. I taught English for 2 years in Japan, volunteered for 2 years at the Smithsonian in DC in the archives, and now work for the family business while learning accounting... which I am horrible at.
I am told I say "Sorry" and "Thank-you" too much. I'm the girl who agonizes over using plastic bags in the grocery store because I forgot all of my reusable ones at home.
I love movies. All kinds of movies. At home. In pajamas. With hot cocoa. My favorite is "The Russian Ark," followed by "Constantine." It doesn't have to make sense. I do not watch TV, but I sometimes spend entire weekends watching a TV series on DVD. Like Scrubs. or Dr. Who.
I like books, but reading is detrimental and causes lack of sleep. I just finished my first Tolstoy and it still hurts... but I love anything from Harry Potter to Robert Penn Warren to Shakespeare. English was always my best subject.
My biggest regret in life is not being active. I walked and biked everywhere in Japan and loved it. Here, I hardly get to more exotic places than my desk and my bed at night. I'd love to get out more... would love to re-learn to hike and bike and return to skiing. I would love to get rid of my car and do everything by hand. My current life does not lend well to that philosophy, but I'm working my way towards a sustainable, more green, and back-woods way of life. I want chickens! And I love to can fruit.
I doodle on everything.
I'm a certified Sommelier. That doesn't mean anything to me, but does it explain all the drinking? I hope so.
I go abroad once a year for business. I love language. I'd learn them all if I could.
I am, regrettably, very crafty, and artsy, and one of those "I want to do everything myself" kind of people. I like fixing things and making everything better. My dream home would be an old Victorian or Bungalow fixed up with modern appliances. I like to make/sew clothes- which I know is not usually considered to be a datable trait in this century- but I have never had a guy friend that didn't want me to sew him a halloween costume. I make good pirate coats.
I'm honestly looking for a friend that may or may not become a boyfriend- is that what dating is? I'm not sure anymore. I am incredibly awkwardly shy at first, and can't speak straight... ever, but I would like to meet people around my age despite this flaw.
