My self-summary
I'm about as easygoing as they come. I'm down for basically whatever you are; I don't have a strict plan I'm adhering to. I'd rather improvise!

I think life is best spent relaxing or diving headlong into your passions.

Music always has been and always will be a key point of interest in my life. Aside from performing live when I can, my current outlet is learning the ukulele. I got one recently and put several videos out. Have an example! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DM0_zjvgIM
I've taken a break from that for the time being, though, as I'm diverting more time towards starting a big band.

I tried explaining the rest and it was several paragraphs long and ain't nobody got time for that. I'd rather talk WITH you than talk AT you anyway.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated from university in December 2012, double-majoring in Economics and Management. Of course, in a sick twist, the Econ background was the exact education necessary to understand why an Econ background wasn't getting me a job.

Still, persistence pays off, and I landed a position with the State. The agency I work for is pretty cool, and we work with education data.

My true long-term ambition lies in opening a jazz club someday. It seems like the perfect way to leverage my business education and apply it to my love of music and nights out! I don't expect to get it rolling for a while, but if I didn't have a goal I think I'd go crazy.
I’m really good at
My biggest talent lies in performance. I'm very confident on stage, love making people laugh, and as a jazzman I can swing with the best of 'em. I'm also good at dancing in my living room, making macaroni and cheese (reason #371 that I could be a good parent someday, haha), singing too loud in the elevator, and being just silly enough to be adorable.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm a magnificent specimen of what humanity can achieve. Just kidding.

(But seriously)

For some reason, a LOT of people have compared my first impression to Michael Cera or Jesse Eisenberg. I'm not sure why but I've heard it more than once.

Beyond that, people notice that
- I smile a lot
- the music in my head never shuts off
- I'm compassionate to a fault (literally to a fault, to the point where it can be a bad thing)
- I am almost always in a relentlessly good mood (it can get infectious)
- I clean up damn nice
- I have a way of making well-meaning screw ups endearing

...maybe that last one is where the Cera/Eisenberg thing comes from, actually.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh, man. I am SUCH a whore for the whole "movies/cuddling" thing, you don't even know. My favorite movie is Singin' in the Rain, but I know it's not for everyone.

I'm also a big fan of the Marvel superhero movies (Tony Stark, you're my hero), Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Pirates of the Caribbean films (flawed but just plain fun), Disney movies, Pixar projects, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Batman (duh), Ninja Turtles...I love being introduced to new movies, and I guess I'll watch basically anything that isn't horror. My problem with horror isn't the gore, 'cause that's in some action films, too. I just do really bad when I'm forced to watch somebody who's in that kind of terror. I have an hyperactive sense of empathy.

I don't watch many TV shows, but I do really like House (Hugh Laurie is my man-crush...look up his recording of St. James Infirmary Blues), MythBusters, Archer, and Cowboy Bebop (the only anime I have ever gotten into). I've never seen Parks and Recreation or How I Met Your Mother, but I've seen bits and pieces that convinced me I'd enjoy them. I'm currently munching my way through the entirety of Scrubs.

As for books, my absolute favorite is the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. I also really like Scott Pilgrim. Sherlock Holmes is good, too.

Music...not even gonna get into detail because there's so much, but as a quick overview I like jazz and classic rock the most, with a soft spot for 90s alternative, and I'm a huge sucker for anything acoustic.

Food...I dunno. I have very Americanized tastes, though Italian food also works for me. I don't care for Mexican or Chinese food, but I don't begrudge anyone who does like them.
The six things I could never do without
Six absolute necessities...hmm. Hygiene stuff, I guess? And some sort of musical outlet. There really isn't anything else I can think of that's make or break for me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future.
What I want to eat.
What kind of superpower I would want (apparently the one I have is "making weird but apt analogies").
Exit routes if the apocalypse happens.
What I could have possibly come into this room for because hell if I remember.
Why more mammals don't have belly buttons.
What songs would make good swing covers.

In other news for this section, is there anyone who DOESN'T do their best thinking in the shower?
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no "typical". I tend to stick to myself if left to my own devices, but as long as I'm free I will very rarely turn down an invitation to do what-the-hell-ever.

Unless it's something I have a specific aversion to ("heights" comes to mind), I'm willing to do whatever you want! I rarely have non-negotiable plans, so I'm happy to just roll with whatever happens.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Despite being a responsible adult, I get scatterbrained when I'm flustered, which is really embarrassing.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–28
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you're passionate. About something, anything. What's your reason to get up in the morning?

If you're clever or funny (or even "bad at trying to be funny" which can be amazingly cute).

If you think the Charmin bear family needs to reevaluate their personal boundaries.

If you can play a mean game of Tetris or Dr. Mario.

If you don't understand why the word "messenger" has an 'n' in it when the word "message" doesn't. 'Cause I don't understand that either. Damn, English, you scary.

If you're the only one who can prevent wildfires. Smokey told me I was and that's a lot of Goddamn pressure. Apparently I've been doing a shitty job out west. Thanks for making me feel bad, you dick of a bear.

Lastly, if you think we'd resonate with one another. Do you think I'd like you, and do you think I wouldn't annoy the piss outta you? Message away!
