My Self-Summary
Hello. I just joined this site in order to look for new friends in
the Los Angeles-area. I'm married and a mother and my husband just
got his job transferred from New York (where I had lived my whole
life) to Los Angeles, and besides a few old family members, we
don't know anybody in LA.
What I’m doing with my life
Taking care of my kids for the time being. I used to teach, but
stopped once the kids came along.
I hope to teach again soon, one day.

According to my kids, I'm really good at Guitar Hero for a 42 year
old!
The first things people usually notice about me
My height. I'm pretty tall for a woman, though my husband still
towers over me (and you). :)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like a lot of recently popular books, such as Cormac McCarthy's
"The Road", but also enjoy the ones I've liked my whole life, like
1984. I also like classic horror novels (Dracula, Frankenstein) and
Stephen King.
Movies: I'm a sucker for classic Hollywood. Casablanca and Sunset Blvd. are my favorites. Newer stuff I love include Big Fish, Training Day, Slumdog Millionaire, and The Wrestler.
Music: Classic rock (Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, the Kinks, etc.) stuff i grew up on. I like to get into the music my kids like, without being a lame-mom-trying-too-hard. I like Weezer, the Foo Fighters, and the White stripes, too.
Food: ANYTHING
