Fried Green Tomatoes for book, movie and food.
Movies: I'm a huge movie buff and it would take me way too long to
list everything, but I will say Shawshank Redemption is always my
favorite movie. Django Unchained has become a new favorite, easily
one of the Tarantino's bests. I'm also way too excited about Dallas
finally getting an Alamo Drafthouse.
Books: Recently read The Hunger Games and I found that to be pretty
fun read. Gaiman is a favorite author and What's the Matter with
Kansas is easily one of my favorite political book. Political
themed books are something I delve into often, meaning I read Atlas
Shrugged (A struggle to get through), A People History of the
United States and many greek works. Just finished Ready Player One,
that was a fun read. Now starting the Song of Ice and Fire books
(Yeah, I know, way late). Sometimes I do feel like I loose geek
cred by not having read Enders Game butI do have a valid reason for
not doing so, feel free to inquire.
Shows: DVR is constantly full but I just want to say that if you're
not watching Community you're streets behind. Also Adventure Time
is great times.
Music: Confession time: Music has never struck a chord with me (See
what I did there?) Oh I listen to plenty, usually rock or anything
with a good guitar riff and have a few favorite artists (Slash,
K'Naan, Kirby Krackle, Adam Warrock) but if you would ask me to
list a favorite song I would be lost. Upside is that I'm usually
open to checking out any new music, so feel free to recommend
some.
Podcasts are also pretty big for me. My Brother, My Brother and Me,
Car Talk, This American Life (really most of NPR offering), Doug
loves movies, Smodcast, Giantbombcast...I listen to a fair share of
them.
