Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If there was a quote to describe my life it would be the
"Sucking at something is the first step to becoming sorta good at
something" (Extra points if you know where it's from)
With that in mind I'm someone that tends to throw himself at almost
any activity, regardless of my actual initial skill. That's how I
taken up yoga, running, tennis and soccer, swing dancing , rock
climbing and pretty much any activity that seems fun, challenging
or just different. When I'm not staying physically active I tend to
be socially active, so that means happy hours with friends,
checking out random restaurants (Cosmic Cafe is an always
favorite), board game nights (Agricola, Alehambra, CAH, etc) and
now that it's open frequenting the Alamo Drafthouse as much as
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm doing the usual 9-5 in a corporate job in banking
though I'm also preparing to jump into teacher certification. It's
actually a huge change, both nerve wracking and exciting, but it's
something I been considering for a long time.
A lot of my passion and work in my life currently goes towards
running a pretty active meetup group. I gives me an excuse to try
everything from fencing to cooking classes, keeps me socially and
physically active but more importantly I met some of the best
people through it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Jumping headfirst into a new activity. I tend to be willing to try
almost anything, regardless of how good I'll be at it.
Also making new friends. After all, a stranger is just a friend you
haven't made yet!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How I wear my emotions on my face. Its usually easy to tell what
I'm thinking due to this, which means I tend to stay away from high
stakes poker games..
Physically, my calves. Running and climbing have shaped them into
objects of praise..which truthfully is still kind of weird.

Movies: The short answer is that if they're showing it at The Alamo
Drafthouse (which I been to plenty of times already) I'll probably
Books: I been starting to read more often again and actually
started a book club, so I been reading lots of different stuff. So
far I read Gaiman 's. The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Voices from
Texas Death Row and Gone Girl. I just finished Hitchhikers Guide to
the Galaxy (yeah, behind the times) and loved it. Currently reading
Shows: I don't have too much time to catch up on tv but I always
make a point to watch Venture Brothers, Bob Burgers, Walking Dead.
Community has been fantastic once again this year and I been
enjoying Brooklyn Nine Nine. Smart and absurd is my favorite
Music: Confession time: Music has never struck a chord with me (See
what I did there?) Oh I listen to plenty, usually rock or anything
with a good guitar riff and have a few favorite artists (Slash,
K'Naan, Kirby Krackle, Adam Warrock) but if you would ask me to
list a favorite song I would be lost. Upside is that I'm usually
open to checking out any new music, so feel free to recommend
Podcasts are also pretty big for me. Serial has become my weekly
must listen...even if at this point I don't know what to believe.
Koening may as well have done it for all I know. My Brother, My
Brother and Me, Car Talk, This American Life (really most of NPR
offering), Doug loves movies, Smodcast, Giantbombcast...I listen to
a fair share of them.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Ignoring the necessaties for living, as well as the usual
1)Someone to belay me while climbing (I been bouldering more often
so this is less of a necessity.)
2)Shoes other than my work shoes (running, climbing)
3)An interesting board game
4)A good stout beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Recently I been mulling gender politics and portrayals in the media
I consume. It's disheartening to realize that things I genuinely
enjoy are also having detrimental effects on our culture.
Also how boring it must be to have natural talent. Struggling at
things only to watch that slow improvement is the best.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually trying to convince myself to turn in early since I have 6am
Saturday morning runs. When that fails (and it usually
Visiting a local dive bar
Heading to a comic shop for happy hour and concert

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I listen to Ska like it was still the mid 90s.
I just recently binged watched my first Netflix show. It was quite
