My self-summary Propose an edit

To sum me up in the easiest way possible: I’m Ally, a liberal country gal with high ambitions that loves life and is often viewed as ‘one of the guys’ and eats chicken noodle soup with a fork and straw. I am originally from a small town in Northern Kentucky, but moved to Louisville a couple years ago for college and will remain here for 2-5 more years (depending on where I end up for Law School). I am still, and always will be, a country girl. I love the laid back attitude living in the middle of nowhere has to offer. After all, you can’t hunt, fish and truely enjoy the outdoors in the city.
I don’t believe in regrets, so I make the most of each day as it comes. I have some of the most amazing people in my life that mean everything to me. My family is odd, so I fit right in. My friends are crazy, so I have people to join me in the asylum one day. I am the kind of person that gets very close to the people in her life and doesn’t believe in shallow relationships of any sort.
People that know me will definitely agree with the fact that I am a tomboy. Nearly all my friends are guys and life is much easier that way. Girls are usually full of drama and stupid bullshit that wastes everyone’s time. I’m the kind of girl that compliments a guy when he has a respectable release of bodily gas. I love watching sports with the guys, especially football and MMA. My teams include any Louisville teams for college sports and Cincinnati teams for pro. I proudly yell Who dey! The only sport I participate in is Wheelchair Rodeo, and remain undefeated.
A few other random things about me: I am very proud of the person I am slowly becoming and will not change who I am for anyone. When people judge me I go out of my way to prove them wrong (which is why I have the career goals I do). I have a dimple in my right heel. I love tattoos. I only have one right now, but am getting my second in about a month. I adore Threadless t-shirts.. I have no respect for people who do not respect the musical greatness of Johnny Cash (not saying you have to love his music, but at least respect him as an artist).. Mixing German and Spanish into random conversations is a hobby of mine.. I love sitting in little hole-in-the-wall coffee shops shootin' the shit and playing trivial persuit.. Oh, and Chuck Norris is afraid of me.
UPDATE: I am now in the process of learning to read Braille! I'm pretty excited about this.. you should all be envious!

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Big things, baby!
I am currently a student at the University of Louisville and I absolutely love it! I am majoring in Political Science with a possible minor in Economics. I plan on going to Law School at Brandeis, Chase, or UC. I hope to be an attorney and advocate for people with disabilities. One day, I may take up lobbying for the ADA or other similar legislation, which goes along with the advocacy side. Helping people is one of my biggest passions and I want to make some sort of a difference in the world, if only in one person's life.

Also, I am easy to talk to. I think that's why guys love to have me as a friend. They always come to me for that girl's perspective on everything. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Why, yes, I am in a wheelchair.. Thank you for asking.. But don't think my disability defines me (although, it often affects the way society views me).. The only difference between us is that I get to use elevators everywhere I go and get to jump to the front of the lines at amusement parks.. So, sucks to be you!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

A) I love Dr. Seuss.. One goal in my life is to memorize all of his books.. I love PostSecret books and the idea behind them is amazing.. Other than that, I like the classics, as well as anything the next generation may consider a classic.

B) COMEDIES! I love laughing.. I absolutely HATE chick flicks: they're so fake.. Some drama, thriller and suspense movies can be good, as well as any combination of the three..

C) A little bit of everything.. Seriously.. I like anything from Johnny Cash to Bouncing Souls ('You're So Rad' is on the list of my life's theme songs) to Pearl Jam to Aerosmith to Reba McIntyre to Jimi Hendrix to Sage Francis to Brian McKnight to.. okay i'm tired of typing... See? A little bit of everything..

D) I love simple foods.. hot dogs and hamburgers.. chili and tater soup.. I don't like complicated food with a bunch of different tastes put together.. As long as something tastes good, I'm happy.. My absolute favorite foods are Cincinnati Chilli, goetta, and O'Charleys potato soup..

Family and friends (they're pretty much one in the same), Blue Thundah (the chair), The Beast (my sexy 15 passenger van), Gold Star Chilli, something to make me laugh, and hope

The future and how I can live each day to the fullest.. As much as I hate it, I do think about the past a good deal. I have no regrets, but still often wonder "What if?"

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

It depends on where I am..
If I'm in Louisville, I'm probably somewhere with the guys.. Either at the dorm watching them play Smash Bros or piling everyone into my 15 passenger van and wandering around town..
If I happen to be back in NKy for a weekend I can usually be found hanging out at my brother's new house babysitting my niece or out with some old friends from high school.

It isn't really a 'private' thing, but I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy when I was two years old.. Nothing pisses me off more than when people make judgements about me because of that.. Yes, I have a disability but I am just the same as everyone else..
