My self-summary
hyper bookworm, lazy cyclist. queer kid. superfan of the well-crafted pop song. I live right across from fabulous Humboldt Park.

I'm in a committed, monogamous relationship, so I'm not looking for dates, but I'm on here to seek and screen potential dates for my fantastic friends. In other words, no use asking me out and I have zero interest in being part of your threesome. Gross.

I'm trying to collaborate on my first musical - a modern midwestern adaptation of Three Sisters. It's going to be ridiculous. Please send relevant song title ideas & I'll treat them as writing assignments.
What I’m doing with my life
Playing with babies I don't own, writing lyrics and essays, brunching like it's my job, getting the old folks out on the floor, re-memorizing the two- and then three-letter words, and making transcendent soups out of my CSA.
I’m really good at
making friends, being bossy, shit talking during scrabble.
The first things people usually notice about me
I talk, a lot - and gesture wildly while doing so. Also, constant dancing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) Always Magic in the Air: The Bomp and Brilliance of the Brill Building Era, The Sexual Politics of Meat, Thin Skin, You Are Happy, Love is a Mixtape, Street Reclaiming, Lethem, Austen, O'Connor.

b) Nashville, Manhattan, Metropolitan, West Side Story, Wire, Whedon, West Wing. The last dance sequence in "Center Stage" is a sublime slice of cinema.

c) These days I only listen to Pulp's "Like a Friend", LCD Soundsystem's "I Can Change", The Mats' "Unsatisfied" & all of Rumours over & over. Oh, some Whiskeytown & Scott Walker work their way in as well.

d) deep fried artichoke hearts, fresh passion fruit, asparagus, chewy vegan brownies with walnuts, kale, scapes, stuffing, home grown tomatoes, lavender lemonade, brewer's yeast and most condiments.
The six things I could never do without
Bicycle, brother, hot sauce, water, well ordered words, good green things to eat...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why more people don't read poems or see plays. How to get Chicago to stop driving everywhere. My dad. Modern Feminism. Gender identity. Food politics. Friends and family all spread out. Home.
On a typical Friday night I am
waving not drowning.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I watch both Glee and The Glee Project & I secretly think you should too. It's a really great way to talk to your teenage cousin & let him know it's ok to be gay without you telling him you think he's gay.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 27–37
  • Near me
  • For new friends, activity partners
You should message me if
You live in Chicago, eat all your vegetables, ride a bike & want a dance partner.

Feel free to write with poems to read or plays I should go see.

You have a crew of seriously large-hearted, generous, wise friends who like to sing a long.

P.S. A friend pointed out that if my profile doesn't mention Springsteen I'm misrepresenting myself. So, Bruuuuuuuuce!
