My self-summary Propose an edit

You might be looking for something witty and insightful enough to disarm you and make you want to email me...well, too bad. Witty and insightful doesn't come around until date 3.

I don't care much for doing the whole self-summary thing. The worst person to listen to when trying to learn about someone is said person. I won't tell you I'm a wonderful person, or crazy, or any of the important stuff. I'd hope you'd find that out on your own.

You can find out what I'm doing with my life, in the 'What I'm doing with my life...' bit. But I do have a lot of passion for the things that I do. Whether it's work, or the things I do for fun, the trips that I take or the games I play (never relationship games, by the way). I prefer to be someone who enjoys what they do, not do things just because they're supposed to.

I love people who are quick-witted and love to joust verbally. Whether it's about a movie we just saw, or about politics (yes, I'm not afraid to broach the subject). I'm at my happiest when I make people bust out laughing so hard they cry, or sit there and really think hard about something that they hadn't thought about before (or thought about in a new way). I love new views on old things. I should've taken more philosophy in college.

What am I looking for? I've been around long enough to know that my dream girl is nothing like any dream I could ever come up with. That's the fun of it.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I work full-time and run my own business as well. It ends up in being a lot of work, but I still find plenty of time to have fun. I enjoy what I do, so that helps. My work does center quite a bit around sports (particularly baseball), and it also requires quite a bit of travel, so hopefully I can find someone who can appreciate both of those things.

I have a small, comfortable social circle. Most of my friends over the years have moved to places like Oklahoma and Boston. I like to travel, though I don't travel enough to go see them. I also enjoy road trips to places that don't take 3 or more days to drive to, particularly Las Vegas. As for my friends around here, you can find us regularly at a couple of local pubs, or hanging out at one of our houses watching Adult Swim, sports, or other fun stuff. And we're almost always laughing. Usually at each other.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I'm a writer, so I'd like to think I'm good at that. I write about many things, from non-fiction...albeit mostly baseball...but also screenwriting and even taking stabs at writing novels. I do make the worst jokes ever. I've recently gotten into urban hiking.

Mostly, though, I'm good at exploring life and following my interests, no matter who silly or idealistic or whatever. I do the things that I want to, and don't let a lot of concerns or worries hold me back. And I'm not ashamed to pursue them, like it seems some people are. Are some of the things I like weird? Sure. So what?

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

You tell me. If you've gotten four paragraphs into this profile, I hope you've noticed something by now.

Although I have been complimented about my eyebrows more than once. I really don't know how to take that.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

The laundry lists I've seen people write here are most often the things I skim past in profiles, so I'll make it simple. If you want to know me (not necessarily what I like), here's the best examples of each I can give.

Book: Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

Movie: Wall-E (check back and this will likely change eventually). The Dark Knight. I'm in retro, loving Breakfast Club lately (probably thanks to JC Penny. I am so swayed by capitalism).

Music: Estranged, by Guns N Roses. Born For This, by Paramore. What A Wonderful World, covered by Joey Ramone.

Food: Beef BBQ Ribs. Sesame Jack Chicken. As unhealthy as it is, wedge-cut fries from KFC.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

• The Internet (A little indirectly, for both my jobs).

• Beef (since I'm allergic to so many other foods).

• Witty Banter (Always looking for more).

• Baseball.

• People with whom I differ greatly (Life is boring without disagreement).

• My Macintosh.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

I reflect a lot on the past. I'm the kind of person that believes we are who we are because of our experiences, and I try to be the one that controls the experience, and not let the experience control me. Does that sound like a control freak? Perhaps, but it reduces the regrets that I have.

I also spend a little time thinking about how I could've improved the Fantastic Four movies. I think it would take more thought than I could put into it.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Friday? Wait, what day is it? Ah, the perils of working retail, especially stores open later at night.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I'm very open about sides many might consider private (or dirty), which is certainly off from the norm. I don't even fit in properly with the so-called kinky. (See, there I am being maybe a bit too blunt about it again). I'm comfortable being unique enough to defy both the descriptions of vanilla and kinky.

Of course, I would probably scare off more people if I admitted I still have an affinity for Professional Wrestling. Actually, I do admit that, and I do scare people off. Oh well. Don't worry, I won't force you to come with me if I ever go to another live event.

You should message me if Propose an edit

You should message me if you're looking for someone who you can be comfortable with, but still get kept on your toes with....someone you can sit and home and bullshit about nothing, but also have deep conversations about those topics others avoid for fear of being a little uncomfortable....if you love comics and aren't afraid to show it...if you want to meet someone who thinks differently (truly differently) about many things, from politics to sex to comics to analyzing baseball...if you want someone to go to San Francisco Giants games with...if you want someone to go to San Jose Giants or Fresno Grizzlies games with...

But mostly, message me if you love to laugh and have fun, even if you don't have any of the things I just said in the paragraph above.
