My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a former member of the U.S. Army who used to jump out of airplanes (Airborne!) and slide down ropes out of helicopters (Air Assault!). If the military isn’t your thing, that’s OK. You are entitled to your opinion, and I am more than honored to have defended your right to it.

I believe in fidelity and faithfulness in a marriage / serious relationship. Once you have taken a vow to be faithful to one person, you should honor that vow. Period.

I am more concerned about a person's attitude than I am about their chronological age. A person can be 50 years old, but act as juvenile as a teenager, or be 25 and have a sense of self and purpose. I am looking for someone who knows who they are, but are not jaded on life.

Although I am not a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), I am a firm believer in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (The right of the people to keep and bear arms). I am not a hunter, but then, the Second Amendment is not about "hunting". The Second Amendment protects the rest of the Constitution and Amendments. It also affirms a person the individual right to protect him/herself from physical threats. And yes, I do exercise my Second Amendment rights. I own several firearms. If you don't care for firearms, then we will not get along very well.

The shootings in a Connecticut school in 2012, a theater in Colorado in 2012, a church in South Carolina in 2015, a theater in Louisiana in 2015 and other similar acts of murder are atrocities that should never happen again. True proponents of the Second Amendment and its true meaning are appalled by these acts. This is not what the Second Amendment is about. Violence against anyone for reasons other than legitimate self defense cannot be tolerated by a civilized society.

I did not vote for Obama either time, and I do not agree with what he, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, the RINOs (Republicans-In-Name-Only) and other "progressives" are doing to our great nation. Socialism is not the answer.

Since I was stationed in Hawaii from 1992 until 1997, I had the opportunity to run in and finish the Honolulu Marathon three times (1994, 1996, 1997) and was on the U.S. Army Hawaii Powerlifting Team (1996). I still make it to the gym when I can, which lately has been a little easier since we now have a couple of 24-hour gyms in the area.

Both my father and I served in the Army, and as a result I have had the opportunity to live in or visit many countries. Some of these include: Germany, Japan, Korea, Kenya, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Austria, Switzerland and quite a few more. To this day, I enjoy visiting other countries when I have the chance. Some of the places on my "To Visit" list are (in no particular order): The Seychelles, Australia, Nepal, India, China, New Zealand and a whole lot more!

I do not smoke or use drugs. I have no tattoos or body piercings. I know... pretty dull, huh? These are things I just never needed in my life. Also, I have no criminal record, and I would like the same from you.

This is just a short "Who I am". Thank you for your time.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am training to do my first Spartan Race this October (2015).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at being myself. I don't try to copy anyone else, I just try to be me. As far as talents go, am not particularly good at any single thing. I just try to do my best at whatever I am doing at the moment.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Ummm... Maybe that I am 5' 7"?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I like to read almost anything from Michael Crichton ("Prey", "Jurassic Park", "Eaters of the Dead", etc.), Dan Brown ("Angels & Demons", "The DaVinci Code", "Digital Fortress", etc.) and Stephen King (too many to list). I have also read "1984" and "Animal Farm" about five times each.

As far as music, I listen to rock, classic rock, new age, classical and whatever hits my mood at the time. I must say that I am not a big fan of gangsta rap or death metal.

Movies... "The Green Mile" was fantastic. It is one of the few movies I like as much as (if not more than) the book. "Shawshank Redemption" was also very good. "It's A Wonderful Life". If you’ve ever seen it, you will understand.

Food... Of course I like the regular American-type foods like steak, bacon cheeseburgers, pizza, etc. (all in moderation, of course), but I also like Thai, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and German food. I lived in the Far East for a few years, so I developed a taste for Asian foods. I lived in Germany while my father was in the Army, so that explains the German food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
After living in Afghanistan for two-and-a-half years, I have learned there is very little I could not live without. Material things are nice to have, but are not really necessary.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about where my life is going. The twists and turns that took me to Afghanistan will hopefully start to straighten out into a smooth course.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Wondering how Friday got here so fast...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Even though I have jumped out of airplanes, been bungee jumping and like to ride the biggest, tallest and fastest roller coasters, I don't care too much for heights.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you have first read my profile and are still interested. If you are married or in a relationship, I may write back as a friend, but it will never go any further.

Like I said earlier, I am not too hung up on age per-se, but will look at everyone as an individual. The age part in the "I'm looking for" part of my profile is only to satisfy the requirement of an age range, so don't get too hung up on it if you fall outside the range.

If you use tobacco in any form (smoke, dip, chew, etc.), use ANY drugs (including marijuana) or have an irrational fear of guns/firearms, don’t bother writing. These points are non-negotiable.

Just like everyone else, I have a certain idea of the type of person I am looking for. If I don't write back, please do not take it personally and I wish you luck in your search.
