My self-summary
Just moved back into the area about a year ago, looking to expand my social circle. I have lived all over the country and enjoy traveling. The area immediately around me is QUITE boring, I don't mind visiting surrounding areas on the weekends/holidays. Nice long drive gives me time for meditative thought.
I am deep into hacker/unix culture and the free software movement. I would be considered and have worked as a "white hat hacker" if you know what that is, if not it is someone who protects networks by breaking them instead of breaking to steal data or for fun. I first started coding when I was 12 and never stopped.
Don't count me out yet I have alot of non computing hobbies and likes. I have spent alot of time in the outdoors/camping.
Religiously I am functionally atheist but pragmatic agnostic seems a better description. I have a deep respect for culture including religious beliefs that are not hateful or violent.
I tend to communicate with humor about 60% of the time. Usually it is bizarre wordplay, odd logic (stems from the CS), dark sarcasm and self deprecation. It works for most people.

Also it is really killing me that I have a negative score for the Artsy personality trait. I am guessing the creators of this site don't think that science and art can mix. They should read the etymology for the word "technology". Let me help { Greek tekhnologiā, systematic treatment of an art or craft }. SO THERE (that sounded angry...)

I am intelligent, darkly funny, and crazy.

What I’m doing with my life
I am back in school now majoring in Mathematics and working part time in IT (info. tech. not Italy). Gave up studying Computer Science. I am to good at it and can't make it through school due to massive boredom. Don't take me to be the nerdy type only, I love camping, hiking, swimming and the outdoors in general.
I am working towards lifelong dream of starting my own video game/interactive art studio, progressing slowly. I took a break from this and school to work as an engineer at a super computing company for about 3.5 years, economy killed it though so I am back here in MS now. So ready to not be in MS though.

I’m really good at
Computer Science, learning, video games, origami, table top/board games (DND, Paranoia), solving complex problems, having *fun* in general, being a smart ass, confusing people, and trying new things.

The first things people usually notice about me
I have a very dominant presence most of the time. It doesn't go well with my slight initial contact shyness either.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorites... anything that makes me think and/or laugh.
Authors: Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, Douglas Adams among many others. Oh and comic books (especially Green Lantern) and a little manga.
Movies: The Man from Earth, Tron, Black Sheep, Anything from Monty Python, Anything Star Trek related. Most real scifi (for 2009 that would be District 9, message me if I missed one, and no Star Trek doesn't count even though I love it). Good comedies (generally dark satire, but anything goes as long as it's funny). The recent flood of Marvel comics movies has been nice as well (Spider Man/Iron Man/Fantastic Four). I grew up reading them so I was biased coming in...
TV: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Daily Show/Colbert Report, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Conan O'Brien, Doctor Who (3rd->5th, 9th->?), Mythbusters, 30 Rock, The Office, Red Dwarf, South Park, Documentaries (especially BBC), lots of Anime.
Music: Tool, Radiohead, NIN, The Crystal Method, Smashing Pumpkins, Infected Mushroom, Hallucinogen, Bjork, Beck, James Brown, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Dead Weather, Rage against the Machine, Orbital, Portishead, Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert, so much more.... If you didn't pick up the genre theme that would be Soft Rock to Industrial, Goa/Psytrance, Acid House and other non-annoying forms of Electronica, whatever the hell Bjork is ;) I don't normally like country music (nasal singers), or twangy sounds (except Beck rocked it) but every now and then something breaks through that is ok with me (very rare). I try to listen to new band in random (sub)genres once a week. Those in the list are just the ones that have stuck in my normal rotations. I used to compose music and played the flute for a while.
Food: chinese, mexican, italian, sea, sushi/sashimi, pizza, burgers, most things really.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
In order and yes the first 3 did beat no 4...
Computers... (its my job/hobby), GNU/Linux, Open Source, sex (I'm a guy I can't help it), how things work, psychology, weird math, what they really meant when they said that, meta thinking, meta meta thinking.

On a typical Friday night I am
Atypical... That really depends. Usually hanging out with friends, or at the movies, writing software or catching up on tv shows but all done in an atypical fashion otherwise it would be boring.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That would make it less private, so I would have to constantly change it till I ran out of private info...

Well lets try this, I sing along with whatever is playing (especially Tool/NIN/Radiohead/Smashing Pumpkins) if I am alone or with close friends.

Now that is not private so I should move it somewhere else... see I knew this wouldn't work. Oh well it doesn't matter, and even if it matters does it matter that it matters?
