I'm a relatively happy guy I believe that is largely due to my happiness is not dependent on a standard of living. I am completely free from the concept that "happiness and security = the middle-class lifestyle". I enjoy a comfortable but not overly cluttered life. One of my favorite indulgences is going dancing. Yes, at 53 I still love to go clubbing and shake my booty. So I stay in pretty good shape.
I think of myself as confident, not brash or rude, but having a strength of character. I spend alot of my life trying to better understand the big wide world and what makes it go, taking information from many sources to create a wholistic picture.
I find that many people make decisions based on fear - fear of failure, fear of looking foolish, fear of the future, fear of old age, fear of being hurt, etc. - and this is what stops many people from relaxing, having fun, and being adventurous. Adventure can be everyday by taking you out of your comfort zone and testing your limits.
Curiosity is one of my major motivating factors since you learn new things about the world as well as new things about yourself. Its one of the big reasons I started working in other countries. I've spent over 12 years of my life working overseas.
I like indoor fun as well as outdoor fun - who doesn't like beaches and mountains? I enjoy all the simple things and some of the expensive things in life. However, when it comes to owning stuff, I'm the ultra-minimalist. I adore art museums, theater, and dance. I love the ballet.
I'm not much for live music but I'm sure I would be more tolerable for the right person - especially if I can dance.
